Someone on the media team has recently discovered AI.

How's this one from last week – Santa impaled by a shark with what looks to be four eyes.
They need to take prompting lessons.

FFS - I've only browsed the options available with my $40 credit, nothing further - but now I've received an email thanking me for my order of the default pack of cap, card, lanyard and Zambero card.

Not what I wanted to order at all. I've emailed them.

Happy with the membership items. They arrived nice and quick. I like most of the items, though don’t like the shape of the caps (too high), will probably be good for kids though. Backpacks and water bottles and stickers etc all good.

I think people forget that the credit amount is just a nominal amount, there’s no way you would get that much credit if they were for real sharks store items.

Yep, it's on low cost, high mark up items. Probably be double if not more what you'd get towards actual store.
Some would rather $10-20 against actual store, but either don't mind the crap (especially for kids) or don't care too much either way.

Yeah I'd much rather this. It's pretty **** look regarding sustainability too that we force people to select from a range of plastic crap that's a year away from becoming landfill. At the very least they should have an option to donate that value to sharks have heart for anyone that doesn't want the junk.

I expect all/most clubs do it
The family goodwill for getting trinkets obviously far outweighs the clubs environmental responsibilities.
Last idea is a good one but still assumes the value of the $40 credit is $40, actually it is just whatever the club paid for the items, probably like $5-10.

I'm with you though $10 full store credit would be better but then you'd get people sooking why can't I just have $10 off my membership, or I can't get my four kids much with $60 credit etc (compared to the cheapy stuff).
No real obvious way to have an outcome that works for everyone - best bet is appeal to the families and kids I guess?

Now THIS is outrageous:

Thank you for your email and support.

You have had 14 days to customise your 2024 Membership Packs and as you were yet to do so, the standard packs were triggered, ensuring you had some items prior to Christmas. This is outlined in our Terms and Conditions on our Website; however, I understand if this was not made clear.

We are working with our suppliers on the issue regarding the order as it seems that XXXX’s Pack that was processed is under your name, instead of his name. In the meantime, please do not redeem the Membership Pack that is left for yourself in the Mber+ Portal as this could affect how we resolve the reverting back of the Credit for XXXX’s Pack.

Please be patient with us as we are trying our best to get back to all requests from our Members. We will update you when we have further information and apologise for any confusion and inconvenience caused.

If you have any further questions or there is anything else that we can do, please let us know.

Kind regards,

Sarah

Fmd. I got the same email as you about thanks for your order. How can this club continue to Fck up such a relatively simple process

2 weeks to decide your order from receipt of email, with no mention of that in said email is mind boggling...

Yeah I spoke to them today too.

For some reason our mber+ options are all under the account of one of the people I sit with, despite us all paying separately. As such, I didn't get any of the emails and don't have a username to access the portal. I should be able to expect, if they can email me for my money, they can manage an email for me to pick member options.

I mean I'd be okay with the options being 40 bucks for mber items, or 20 towards the store/donation. Could be a way to find a solution that suits more than just families.

Concept is sound but it’s a numbers game and we just don’t know the numbers.

$20 in proper credit might cost them $10 in stock but $40 in ‘membership’ credit might be like $5 in stock.
So they make an extra $5 through the crud… times that by however many members…

BUT there’s other factors too. If you buy a jersey for $160 you wouldn’t have otherwise they give away $10 in stock but you have to spend extra $70 in profit still.
All more complicated than it seems at a glance.

Just gotta hope it’s near the sweet spot on the graph which has a lot of members happy without chewing out of profit too much - given the email issue not sure how much faith to have in that…

This has been an issue with the company we have been using for a while; however the process has been simplifed; though making your own pack, has made it somewhat complex.
I understand what the intent is behind making members building their own packs; however the execution has somewhat poor.

My missus selected the non customerised pack; whilst I customised my pack (voucher) and was required to pay for the merchandise delivery.
my own view on this, would use the vouchers to go towards actual sharks merch, in-which there would of been a high probability that I would of spent additional money spent on club merch.
