Red Bull have confirmed Ric won't be in a Red Bull this season as they don't want to lose Sergio's 2nd place position in the drivers championship

On the flip side if they planned to put him in the Red Bull seat in 2024 he would have a good chunk of this season to get up to speed with it

But it wouldn't be worth giving up the prize money Sergio would get them in 2023

Now he needs to perform cause that red bull seat is ripe for the picking
I haven't been following closely this year, is the car itself any good? Should they have been performing better? I'm hoping he doesn't get stuck in a dud

They have been the slowest car but it's probably his best path for a better drive next season.

SVG doing double duty - Trucks Sat and NASCAR Sun - Aust time. I heard Scotty Mc was racing Indy there sometime over the weekend also.

I saw a post from Will Brown thanking the Erebus team, although Redbull hasn't announced anything, the talk is he will be SVGs replacement. Really not happy about it, would have preferred Heimgartner by a country mile.

Got my tickets for the Melbourne grand prix. Good luck anyone trying to get them during the general release. That was bad enough just in a very limited presale.

Hope this is an omen but like the Raiders against us, Max Verstappen going for 10 wins in a row too tonight at Monza. Hope those Ferraris can stop him. Getting pole is a start, but Red Bulls on a different planet with race pace. Anyhow for what it's worth, go those red cars.

Apparently Ferrari dealerships are horrendous to deal with.

I keep an eye on this every time I have a ticket in a lottery valued at over 20 mill.

Most high end Euro car dealerships are terrible to deal with, arrogant, bad service, take your wallet for a ride ect.

It might be different in Australia as there tend to be dealers that sell a range of exoctic euro car brands as opposed to you going to a specific Ferrari branded dealership. The market in Aus is pretty small for these types of cars afterall so it makes sense.

It's possible these places might act more like an importer or broker than a traditional dealership that has already taken ownership of various models from HQ or the wholesaler.

Ferrari are a particularly interesting case though.

You can't just walk into a Ferrari dealership and buy the Ferrari you want if one at all. You have to get into the club first by buying lower end models, greasing the dealers palms with brown envelops and generally having to prove your worth and that you meet their standards for Ferrari ownership.

Ferrari consider themselves doing you a favor by letting you drive their cars, even after you have handed over a smooth half mil.

It's an interesting business strategy knocking back sales but I suppose it's how they maintain they're allure of exclusivity and they treat their product as art not a simple commodity like a vehicle.

Even super rich car nut guys like Jay Leno refuse to deal with Ferrari because of all their bs.

This is how Lamborghini supercars was born back in the day. Ferruccio Lamborghini didn't like Enzo Ferrari's stubbornness and pride so Ferruccio decided to build his own improved supercars under his own name and sell them to the public with superior customer service behind it.

Lamborghini was at the time building tractors.

Sad that modern Lambos are filled with stuff from the Volkswagon / Audi parts bin but they still look and sound fantastic. Ferrari too.

If you win the Lotto let me have a drive mate.

Bathurst SVG breaks 300km/h barrier

For decades, commentators and pundits alike have talked about Supercars breaking the 300km/h mark at Conrod Straight.
Ford legend Glenn Seton claims he was the first to do it in the late 90s, but there was never a speed gun or any other data to back up the claim.
But on Friday, as Shane Van Gisbergen sat in James Courtney's slipstream on his final qualifying lap to squeak into the top-10 shootout, his Red Bull Triple Eight Camaro hit 300.5km/h.
The marker had been tipped to fall this weekend thanks to the reduced downforce on the Gen3 car, but the speed trap on Conrod Straight – which is located short of the point the cars reach their top speed – had to that point only recorded speeds in the low 290s.
