Man it's the best weekend. Tickets are a nightmare which is why I pay extra for the token to get the presale which also opens up doing grid walks and all sorts of stuff.

So much going on down there during it. It's essentially like a giant festival at the track and there's always something in the city going on related to it.

Yea looks like a party/festival for sure, good having things to see and do in between the racing especially for other people that might not be the biggest race/F1 fan

Do you just buy the ticket just to the race or do you pay the extra to get into Quali and Free Practice?

I get the 4 day pass but could probably get away with the 3 days. The Thursday is the best chance at spotting drivers. Saw plenty last year with how it was set up. Hopefully they keep it like that.

First year I did qualifying and the race as one day pass for each so had a different spot for both which made it more interesting I think in terms of appreciating the cars and the sheer insanity of being able to drive through at those speeds.

Sunday is a bit of a punish with long gaps between things but I'm also feeling exhausted by that time so that might be it as well.

Looks like Daniel Ricciardo has put to end to rumours of him returning to F1 with the new American based Cadillac team. So looks like that’s definitely it for him as far as F1 goes. We’ll miss you Danny.

Race of Champions sounds sick, get Mark Webber in there to race against Vettel :devilish:

Btw Aus GP in Melbourne for 2025 has sold out in 1 day! Really need to get myself to it some day

Melbourne is good, but Adelaide was awesome back in the day. The whole town would shut down for it

Sounds like Triple 8 made the move to Ford due to GM’s uncertainty in the V8’s category. More and more signs are pointing at GM rediverting their motor racing focus to their new Cadillac F1 Team. Its looking more and more likely that the days GM’s involvement in the V8’s are numbered.

Starting the trip down to Melbourne tomorrow for the grand prix. One of the best weekends of the year. Hoping Oscar wins but for the chaos Lewis to win in his first race in a Ferrari would be all time.

It was so stupid what he was trying to do.

Another view of it. I reiterate. Ouch.

Brake peddle or lifting off is supposed to disable the DRS but he didn't press the brake hard enough or simply went flat out.

Most drivers disable the DRS manually with a button on steering wheel which he didn't do. With his rear wing still open he didn't have enough down force or grip to make the turn.

Glad he ok, those energy absorbing pillow barriers are a life saver as is modern F1 construction

His old man knew a thing or 2 about high speed crashes
