we should drop toops or shop him around.. we have mad second rower talent now without him, he was one of my fav players but basically every secondrower can do what he does now.. and he's takin a massive slab of salary cap ive heard..

I have no real preference on Carney either coming or not. I don't think it's stupid to sign Todd and I don't think it's stupid not to sign Todd.

What WOULD be stupid to me would be to sign Todd...and then give him an entrapping range of restrictions, particularly a drinking ban. That's like waiting for the Sun to rise in the East or for the zebra to pop out without stripes. It isn't going to happen and expecting it to is moronic. This isn't a rehab center (an argument that works both in his favor and against). You have to accept that IF you sign Todd you do so warts and all. Again, I don't have a real preference on it and haven't voted in the poll, but IF the Club were to sign Todd I hope there would be a realization that you're getting sixty cents on the dollar for him. I'm interested to see how it plays out.

Im surprised they didnt shop him around harder, but we still have room under the cap to buy some players

Have the NRL come out yet and said whether they would block an NRL club from signing Carney. They have de-registered people like him or Bird in the past and that would be embarrasing if we tried to sign him but couldn't.

I dont think fitting Carney under the cap would be an issue from what i understand we have a bit of cash to spend.

Unless Carney and his manager still think he is going to able to command $400k then i would change my tune and say defiantly don't sign him.

As for Toops, yes he takes a lot of cap space but the only good reason to shop him around is to gain someone better and there isnt any on the market.

they can't de-register him on this occasion. realistically he has done nothing wrong legally.

Yeah I wouldn't let Toops go until Frizell is ready or until we get Bird back.

Gallop has requested to meet with Todd personally before he signs with any other Club, but that's the only NRL intervention that has been indicated at this point.

His last "incident" was breaking a stupid team pact not to drink so i dont think the NRL would legally how much power to do anything to stop him.

haha I know but it wasn't just mentioned on here. It has been in a couple of news papers, in RLW and Bird was asked about it on the League Lounge as well. I am still sceptical but the optimist side of me really wants to believe it.

i dunno.. we have alot of good talent coming through maybe we should concentrate on them instead of bringing yet another wide running offloading secondrower.. any rep player is good for the club though!
