That's just a QRL deal with local streaming company I assume?

I can't speak for Kayo's inner working too much but that like to meet a minimum standard which requires more staff and more setup.
But would be good if NSWRL could replicate such broad of streaming, could maybe even bundle them together for like $80
These guys. Not sure where there are located. They do cover other sports all over the country.

I think for NSW Cup games you probably want to meet a standard. For anything below that a stable camera and an unobstructed view of the field is good enough imo.

In terms of Kayo though I don't think they would stream something at that level - but yeah it is good enough for another product thought that is good enough, and much better than nothing

Yeah - that's fine. Doesn't need to be Kayo. Just want to see the games. It's annoying/crazy that in 2023 I can watch live or recorded u16's games played in 30+ different fields spread over 1800km... but I can't watch the Newtown Jets play in Sydney.

I think one NRL WA first grade game gets streamed to youtube/fb per round so you'd think for the jump in level every NSW Cup game could have some kind of camera pointed at it.
All Cup games are probably recorded anyway I would have thought.

Weird it's such a big gap in coverage from NSW to Qld
NSW just don't get streaming

5-6 Q Cup teams even used to do their own thing. I remember watching some 2018 Wynnum trial games in crappy stream to check out Haas playing against men for the first time (their bench that year was Haas, Carrigan, Palasia, Berrell).

The NRL SA comp down here is even worse.

Gets streamed on a local minor streaming service Spacequake Sports.

Was talking to my brother tonight and he mentioned NRL.com had updated every club's contract and dev list so figured I'd jump on and have a look.

Glad I did because I noticed this:

Hiroti is apparently only on a development list now? Also I know ison is the kid from Penrith but don't know much about Coutts.

Oh and by NRL.com's count we only have 28 contracted top 30 players. Thought that was interesting.

What’s the hyperlink to find the list in this way?

I only found this one https://www.nrl.com/players/?competition=111&team=500028

Also wasn’t familiar with Coutts
But he played second row for us in SG Ball last season, played SG ball for Manly year before and HMs before that.

Signed for 2024/2025 presumably Dev deal for both

Also can see him at 18th man for Flegg once

more interested on Josh Finaus and Henry O'kanes status.

are there 2nd tier contracts outside the top 30 and development contracts that still link the player to the nrl squad?

i thought sam Mccullough would of had a development spot over Coutts unless his latest extension includes that in the closing years of his contract? even Ata'ata or Crouch had alot more impact for the team than Coutts last year

when does our pre season start?

Yes. Full time T&T. You can have as many of these as you like. Just need to find the money. Was $1,000/week under the old CBA. Could be a little more now.

T&T is usually one of three categories.

- pre Xmas pre-season
- full pre-season
- full time

Could be to prioritise 2nd row depth. Those others still likely get a pre-season and could still end up as full time.

Since Covid it doesn’t make much difference who is dev vs T&T. The league lets either play under similar scenarios and the money is close. “Named on dev list” might just give a bit more prestige or whatever. I think the Broncos, Panthers and Storm each had 4-5 T&T guys play NRL last year.

Training already, but the main squad get 10 weeks mandatory leave per the CBA. It’s only been 65 days since the Sharks last game, so expect most of the squad back this coming Sunday/Monday.

Players who were in the International games likely get a little more time off.

Pretty sure Storm T and T paying $1000 pw and its linked to consecutive training runs, ie they can dodge the full commitment if yr "Not required" to train.

That is pretty poor
Especially in the case of the storm
A lot of their T and T guys presumably play Cup in QLD so what is going on here? They don't train most of the week (except independently) and don't get paid and then get flown to QLD to play in a fairly high level comp on behalf of the team not paying them?
