Newtown have partnered with De La Salle for 2023, so no more Glebe.

The Jets haven't released much in the way of player details yet. There have been a few photos but that's it. De La Salle have announced a bunch of player signings though. Those guys will be like the Glebe guys were, and will come in to the Jets if/when needed.

Confirmed Signings:
Billy Magoulias, Johnny Gabrael, Tyler Slade, Adam Fearnley, Kai Parker, Kyle Pickering, Charbel Tasipale, Wes Lolo, Jordan Leiu, Brad Fearnley, Tom Rodwell, Caleb Uele, Jensen Taumoepeau, Jacob Gagan

Train and trial:
Maile Haumono, Trentham Petersen, Marco Talagi, Isaac Longmuir, Jonah Ngaronoa, Rhys Dakin, Tony Maroun, Connor Garrety.

Confirmed Signings for De La Salle: Jack A Williams (Eels), Tyla Tamou (Jets), Jackson Stewart (Glebe), Eli Levido (Glebe), Andrew Faddy (re-signed), Jaz Flavell (re-signed), Nathan Skinner (re-signed), Evander Swann (Cronulla-Carringbah)

It looks like there was already a partnership of sorts last season with the Sharks and De La Salle. Their 2022 team was 2/3 made up Sharks Jersey Flegg and SG Ball players.

Don't shoot the messenger... but I think in one of the Jets training videos it also shows Wes Lolo and Isaac Longmuir.

Interesting, I hadn't seen that about De La and Newtown: https://www.newtownjets.com/the-new...lle-jrlfc-announce-a-rugby-league-partnership

It puts the other Shire clubs back a bit (Jersey Flegg players used to be distributed more evenly between the clubs), but I guess the link generally makes more sense than Glebe though.
Could still be the case given that DLS have gone on a signing spree of senior guys. Likely their main team will be made up of those guys and some Jets extras.

I guess we won’t really know until the Illawarra comp kicks off and we see where those guys pop up.

Happy to see Jacob get a go at the Jets.

He showed a lot of potential early on and I think there is some talent there (just had a bit of bad luck).

I remember a few tough gigs playing at Bashup Park.
My team rarely got the chocolates but it was a happy hunting ground for me personally…

Scored my first Q Cup try there off a pass from Wes Patten, and also it was a trial there that got me noticed by the Q Cup coach. I was one of the “non-rated” colts graduates. After a full pre-season training with the reggies I was called up after a good performance in the trials at Bashup park trial and was with the top squad from then on 😊

I’ll update post #1 to reflect this.

Shame injuries got the best of him, really thought he had the potential to have a decent career in the nrl.
Yep, same mate. Had a bit of the Xerri's about him if I recall. The good bits...

Yeah nice one. Didn’t realise he was 29. Shame injuries got the best of him, really thought he had the potential to have a decent career in the nrl.

I remember that Brisbane game a few years back where we were getting flogged, but somehow pulled off an awesome comeback win. Gagan was a big part of that.
