Haven't been through the thread yet. Does anyone think we were stiffed on the try where Thurston hit the upright? I never saw a shot of the ball going down (it was held up by Gordon's leg), then we never see it go down. We were denied a try earlier in the season where the ball probably went down but there was no actual shot of it.

Massively stiffed. The ball never touched the ground but the ref "guessed" try and video ref couldn't overrule.

Yep, I think I even heard Gordon or Heighington going off at the ref when he guessed try on the upright kick one. Anyways, I'm not going to be all salty like Cowboys fans about it, if the should was on the other foot I'd be pissed if it was given no try.

Thats where the inconsistency of the refs & video guys come into play, for mine that was clearly a no try, maybe a double movement aswell, other weeks it would have been disallowed. I was blowing up & I stormed out of the local pub when it was given a green light.

Unfortunately the video refs played to the rules. if the ref called no try, it would have been no try easily

Great effort guys. Did a magnificent job containing thurston

Also, thought we looked really free flowing in attack and our defence was pretty solid. They looked like they were tiring around 50mins but just kept getting it done.

Shepherd has done a great job. I'd like him to be involved in first grade next year

Couldn't agree more!!

Was too busy watching in amazement to post anything... What an effort. Ashyford I'd still a weak link, but there's a lot to be happy about in the look of the 2015 Sharks squad. Gordon was outstanding. Holmes has a tonne of heart. Feki will play on the wing with us until he's poached by Canterbury. Leutele will be very dangerous,he has a great step and knack for breaking the line.

Not so sure about our forwards, but the way our backs looked, we don't need any.
Actually thought ayshford played well

Just imagine what this team could do if we had a lot of our players back and healthy. I know that a lot of these youngsters were the reason for the effort tonight but just imagine. I think we would be in the top 8 again this year.

Ayshford played alright, he definitely looks more confident out there with the extra weight he's carrying now.

I'm waiting for official stats to come in, but at the moment Tim Robinson is listed as 49 tackles, 0 missed, in 50 or so minutes of football. That is ****ing outstanding against Matt Scott/Tamou/Taumalolo/Simsx2.

That loss really hurts. To see our team of mostly reserve graders get that close to a team like the Cowboys, it makes you proud of the effort of the team. I thought we showed a lot of heart tonight. It is a shame we didn't get any competition points out of this one, because I think we deserved something. I'd say that is our "best" loss this season.

Before the last play, I said "Show us your 50 metre field goal". I have no idea how Holdsworth did that. Amazing stuff and at least it provides a nice memory.

I feel numb about it to be honest.

If we play half as good as tonight against the Tigers next week, we should steam roll them.
