The unfortunate aspect of the game is it will likely be forgotten sooner rather than later with wins over the Roosters the last couple of years being the main memory (or the Broncos game but I missed that).

It deserved to be remembered as an epic draw. Thanks to Golden Point that will not be the case. Ironically we will likely see the demise of Golden Point in the near future as the majority hate it.

I agree and i said it last night. Draws in regular season, golden point in finals.

If there ever was an example of why golden point is not necessarily the best thing, it's this game. Cronulla DID NOT DESERVE to leave Townsville with no comp points. They deserved at least one.

What about this... At the full time whistle, if it's a draw each team gets 1 point. They then play golden point as it is now and the winner gets 1 point.

So winner gets 2 points at the end of the game
Loser still walksaway with 1

Nah I think each game should still be worth a total of two points.

There's nothing wrong with a draw. And even if they want to have golden point it should be golden try, no field goals.

Or just 10 minutes extra time no golden point. So u could score a try each and it still be a draw

I think the players do enough in 80 minutes without asking them to play for another 10. I just wish they'd get rid of it all together to be honest.

i am happy with the golden point format, it is **** when you lose in it, but thems the breaks

remembering, we have beaten the cowboys 20-19 in golden point up there

i dont think there is enough merrit to scrap golden point either, that was the second game all year, with the first in round 1

leave it as it is, just sucks we lost

It was all over in 105 seconds. It happens that way all the time. One team marches up field from the kick off and pots the field goal.

I don't think it is a fair way to end the game.

If you're going to have extra time it needs to be the extra 10min I'm happy for no extra time though.

It's a bit silly because both teams aren't given the same scoring opportunity.

It would be like having a shoot out in soccer with just one attempt at goal.

maybe our spastic half back could have caught the kick off and not put us on the back foot

we lost, it happens

there have been golden point games where teams havent even touched the ball, **** happens

Thats why I suggested we still have golden point, however both teams at that point receive 1 competition point each, the other point is played for in Golden point.

You lose you still leave with a point. That point could also be crucial in making the 8

but then each game would need to have a 3 point value, you cant just add extra points to a game because teams couldnt get a result at the end of the game

either go back to a draw, or suck up the fact that a field goal loses you a game

I'm quite ok with golden point how it is. Just throwing up suggestions for those who aren't a fan of it
