Blessing in disguise:

blooding the debutantes over the last couple of months only bodes well for 2015 an onward, imo.
to come within a whisker of upsetting a thurstan lead play off bound team (in another country all be it) shows we made of the right stuff and are heading in the right direction.

2015 cant come quick enough for mine.

Huge effort, wow. Needed that kind of effort last week. 3- Gordon, 2- Politoni, 1- Heighington. Feki was awesome as usual, love the Fek.

It's good to know we don't need to sign a new back in feki at least.

Sign the bloke up for 10 years. What a player.

I don't like losing but that's as good as a loss can get, friggen hell we had x 17 players unavailable & took a team that has won 9 straight to 80 plus minutes, if there was ever a chance for a team to be towelled up for a record score tonight was the night.

A truck load of guys with a bee's you know what of FG experience, I am happily shocked how well we did, brilliant effort Sharks, you could not have had more of a dig, well done to all involved.

Too often people bag out Gordon on this forum. That's a big dose of shut the **** up he served up tonight. And yes, he can be a ball player. Our backline is coming along nicely this year, and they've done it with make shift halves and a meat potatoes 7.

He has been given credit where it was due, but he has copped it when he was playing badly.

Supporters/fans probably have more to learn from tonight than the team.

One thing I always am proud of is the effort that our team puts in. Probably since Stuart arrived there have been very, very few games where the effort hasnt been there. That's not to say the strategy or execution are up to scratch - they rarely are - but they do put in for the 80.

Yeh, I agree on the effort bit, cant remember who or what thread it was in but somebody was saying today or alluding to us not having a go this yr over the course of the season, I think we have used up to mid 30's of players this yr, a yr from hell for all things that could possibly go wrong, even the most harshest critic would find it tough to have a go at the performance or the club tonight.

Also, that was the best coaching perfoamnce for us of the year. Played our smaller forwards and outside backs in behind them up the ruck and were rewarded with some real speed at times. Also the defense on the edges was excellent. It made the Cowboys look worse than they are.

Huge wraps for Shepherd IMO.

Last night was a grand effort, but I've been very disappointed with the effort a couple of times this year. Particularly some of the home games.
