quote from Bruno Cullen in leader article;

Cullen said his only other big concern was the "timing" of the Cronulla board of directors elections ahead of the annual general meeting next month.

"I'm hoping that whatever the board looks like next month, all the work we put in place [business model] will be retained. Otherwise, we've wasted a lot of time and effort," he said.

Peter O'Driscoll. Heart of gold, been knocking on the door for a while. Not sure if he really understands the role but he's a staunch supporter.

Lets hope so, no time for chest beating or ego's.

I'm keen on Douglas, Irvine, Kerr & Tiernan continuing under Keogh as Chair, with 4 new directors.

i'm with you Shark except unfortunately that I reckon if Damien stays then we will have the papers after us for years - he should be given life membership and beer for life but not stay on as a director this time

From what I hear, Mark McGaw is keen on Mark McGaw, never met the guy but I have heard that from so many different people that aren't connected in any way, he sure leaves an impression with people that he meets.

To be the Chairman, you have to be a financial member, with full voting rights, of both the Football Club and The Leagues Club.

It'll be interesting to see who has placed eligible nominations in for that position.

I'm looking forward to seeing the information booklet which includes the statements on each of the candidates.

i'm looking forward to lots of people withdrawing their nominations - especially those that can easily be found with a google search

As this new board will need to be ready to fight ASADA and the ARLC they need to be people with a proven passion for the club.

Their bussines acumen means nothing if they have no club to direct.

I would have thought to be on the board itself you would need all of those quals. Am I missing something? Do you mean Fitz that someone can sit on our board and not be a financial member or have full voting rights of both Leagues and Football club?

surely rothfield will run a story withdrawing his support for members of the rebel ticket - or Fairfax will have to pick up the story wouldn't they??

people are concerned about Kavanagh's links to some bloke that was a minister in the 80's - it couldn't be worse than being linked to an ICAC enquiry with Eddie Obeid could it

yes, thats my point - I have seen emails flying around about these supposed labor links to the current board and the staff sackings being a huge conspiracy. No doubt perpetuated by those with their own agenda.

unfortunately they forgot to look at the ICAC enquiries and find there IS actually a labor link on the rebel ticket - one that appears by reports to be the worst scandal in political history.

imagine the ongoing headlines for the sharks
