It's an election. The vast majority of voters at elections are entirely uninformed. It'd be fantastic if it could be otherwise, but it'll never happen. And expecting the media not to have an agenda? Madness. This is reality, not some utopian dreamland.

Well we should all just do what Rothfield tells us to then, rather than discuss it on the forum.

Anyway, with regards to the Gow backed ticket... at a glance, looks very impressive.

Given the fact that there's a general air of disapproval of the board, media backing of this new group and the well-established lack of a strongly informed voting base, I totally expect these guys will romp it home in the coming elections. Good thing for the club? Who knows.

I think the 2 pertinent questions are;
1)given all the facts available would a new board take a different action on behalf of the club

2) what would a new board change of the development

If these questions can't be answered than they are putting the future of the club at risk, which despite contrary media reports is actually quite secure thanks to the current board

I think the development is a totally separate issue, and contracts etc that are already in place would prevent any major unravelling of that project.

I do believe that having Irvine & Craig Douglas on the board would provide some continuity. This pair know the development and commercial side of the operation inside out.

The Sharks ARE more than just a footy team. And, despite the perception from recent events, this pair would only ever put the club first.

I'd be happy with Keogh and his 6 best people, plus Irvine & Douglas as our new board.

There was an article in today's paper with the names of a ticket that included Damien keogh, shimano boss and a gentleman very high up from Accor hotels. There were other who had some impressive credentials. Plenty of people from a wide variety of industries with contacts in the high end of town....

Just to correct a misrepresentation that Rothfield embedded in his article...

John Dunphy has not been associated with Shimano since about 2008.

As far as I am aware, he does some consultancy work and runs game fishing charters on his boat.

I do believe it is the same boat use in the Sharks "We Can Be Heroes" video from many years ago.

Nice hole in the water that one.

there are some people on that list that I wouldn't trust running a tuck shop... seriously FMD some people are opportunists and glory seekers..

After seeing this list I hope common sense prevails and a combination of the old board (those that need to see the development through..) and some new people mentioned in the press recently are put together on one ticket and voted in unanimously

I get the one ticket thing Tips so there can be smooth meetings, eveyone on the same page etc but the problem imo with the one ticket is you may be leaving some outstanding people or individuals out that would be be value to any board & on the one ticket thing, individuals are not earning there own sopt in their own right or qualities or even lack of, riding on the coat tails of the people that they align themselves to.

I understand but I'd hate to see some of these people just filling a ticket for the sake of numbers.

Some of the people mentioned are level headed and are true sharks supporters and I reckon they can get together and save more headlines of bloodletting.

There's some impressive names on that list. The organised ticket seems to have a lot of big business experience.

people with rose coloured glasses shouldn't throw stones - pepsi isn't the sponsor anymore, john lang isn't coach and Miranda hi-fi has closed down, maybe its time to let go..

I wonder where Mark McGaw has been all these years, didn't see him at recent past players functions and I don't remember seeing his name on the members jersey's.. i'm sure the club could have used his muscles 4 years ago when there was some heavy lifting to be done
