Well we wanted to know where we stand in the comp. Things we have learnt:

1. Still give away cheap penalties and ball
2. One on one defence still needs work
3. Need to convert more line breaks into tries
4. Goal kicking is a concern
5. Still susceptible to soft tries on our line.

In saying all that we probably beat 12 other teams tonight.
There are a couple of players that probably need to go next year , the usual suspects that do it every week

Yeah Melbourne get away with murder in the ruck. Would have been nice to have Dale out there in the refs ear.

McInnes getting grilled as like our 5th choice edge player whose never started a game there before.

Not sure how good our depth is supposed to be?

I am so pissed with the ref.

Yes, we made mistakes but until he decided to sway the game it was a close competition. Cheap penalties, stupid calls.

Storm is a hard team to beat even when things are equal but when it is like this.

Yes, after sometime we kind of lost our way. We will learn from that.

We learnt another lesson today. Just playing footy is not good enough. You need to own the refs and the NRL too. Cleary’s punishment (!) and the decisions tonight is a clear indication of that.

Storms can be beaten. If anyone wants to go and watch the replays of our trys, just watch Coates

I know it's hard because we have a few players out but really missed a 14 tonight. Needed 4 forwards or someone to bring some speed when they come on.

I am exhausted from sitting on a lounge phantom wriggling to get out of Melbourne stifling the ruck WTF. How many hand on ball, wrestles etc….I don’t think we got a repeat set all night. How Melbourne manage to slow the ruck, but not be penalized once is a dark art known only to Melbourne. It shouldn’t happen, but kudos to them for pushing the boundaries.

I do not remember when but there was an allegation that Storm players tackle to hurt. With the ref protection and after watching tonight’s game, think that has a true ring to it.

Two tries were disappointing - the one straight after half time and Harry Grants 5 second put down.

Between those tries and our missed goals it could have been a lot closer.

The one straight after half time was fair. They caught us with our pants down. Grant try was a joke and should be credited to the ref.

Bullshit call.
Brandy was all over it. “Aren’t hip drops when the player is stationary - Papenwhatever was trying to beat him on the outside“ F*&& BS. I was waiting for the ref to tell one of the other storm players to play the ball, Sharks had earnt the right to keep them on their tryline & force an error - not have Melbourne relieved by a penalty as a marquee player gets insured in tackle. I put it to you, reverse it.

If Tolman was slung around in a dominant tackle on his own goal line by Munster, and hurt his ankle would Sharks get a penalty? Doubt it.
