I’d like the W but more importantly we need to be in the game until the end even if we don’t get the win.

We still have much much more improvement in us, so if we stick with them all game, we show we are definitely a top 4 side.
Sorry all. I should have added.

”…… and no injuries or HIA’s”

I think we gave a decent account of ourselves especially for a “new” disrupted side (Losing Katoa and Nikora before the game didn’t help).

The most disappointing things are the BHU injury and Finucane head knock which might hurt us next week (in Dales case) and over the next few weeks/ months in BHU’s case, Hoping not as bad as first thought.

At least we know where we are but we also know we have lots of improvement left in us.

Melbourne would have won the GF against Penrith with last night's performance. They have rep stars across the park who are in career form. Hopefully Nicho, Kennedy and Brailz take this as the challenge the Storm obviously did and work their butts off to reach their level.

It we can keep this squad together for a few years I think the talent is there. Just need consistency, effort and good coaching. Not beyond us

We lost no admirers last night. 2 or 3 mistakes. Loss will get us to knuckle back down at training. Lick our wounds and regroup

Agree. Likewise we beat most teams last night. And we have so much more improvement in us.

I am still bitter about the ref.

Storm would have still beaten us last night anyway so there was no need for all that nonsense from the ref.

Coming back to us, the loss was a good one as it should help us train harder and better. We are not a top team yet, right now we are more of a disrupter. With some hard work and smart recruiting we should become a top team in the next couple of years.

When Munster badly beat Nico for his first try, our prop (Toby) chased like a man possessed & damn near pulled Munster up short of the line. I liked seeing that desperation From Toby.

On same play, Nico get beaten again badly. No doubt The Fitz & Price are putting a lot of defensive coaching work into Nico - thankfully by finals Nico’s reads / technique will have improved.
tobes was a monster in those moments.

There was another break which then chased and wrapped up.

that munster try was heartbreaking. brilliant by munster, good effort by Toby. much respect.

A cold day in hell a team that a team gets a fair shake when it comes to holding. obviously each game has borderline stuff but I thought they got away with 2 or 3 blatant 6 agains.

Also ignores a chop across Ronnie a face but we touch the bottom of a low hanging mullet and it’s a high shot.

And the ruling on McInnes being penalised for a hip drop was farcical. Reeks of an conscious decision to protect a star player be punishing anything that inconveniences them.
Kaufusi hit on Hynes kind of similar but that has been the interpretation all season - there was no hip drop effort from McInnes.

We were outclassed unfortunately.

Paps is an elusive little f**k. Also an A grade diver, but they would have beat us anyway.
yeah - you know I had this thought last night.
chose not to comment because he was ginger for the rest of the game, you can definitely see he was not right

but after the Cam tackle - he sorta seemed ok.
he backed for a try - kicking goals etc.:unsure:

I have seen him before in those big games. lies down, gets treatment, then he does those electric runs and freakish plays. who knows

agree outclassed. but not upset over that kinda loss.

letting the ball bounce and the immediate try afterwards was the low point of the night. Melb in melb where always going to get the rub of the green of the refs.

I think the Storm had a tougher game than even they were letting on , 20 mins to go and they are 12 up and get a penalty , most other teams they run it , they took the 2 , both times , they knew we were good enough to score again to get back into it . That is a show of respect , we are still a project , 6 games in and we are disappointed about that result , how far have we come in 12 months , plenty still to come .

Protecting star players is an interesting way to look at the better teams getting the rub moreso.

Still, I think Melbourne had the ascendancy most of the night and the ref probably sensed it and was firmer on our flirting with breaking the laws of the game.

Disagree with that, most teams take the 2 in that situation.

Sorry when i said most other teams i meant other teams the Storm are playing . If they had been playing Tigs or Warriors or Titans or other bottom teams , in that position they run it .

Yeah Storm dug deep into the trick bag especially for a R6 clash. You can't beat us otherwise.

Our seamless transitions from relentless scrambling D straight into attacking formations is incredible. Once we learn to ice the rest of the opportunities we create we'll be a serious threat.

The kick off by Munster that went over the sideline was deliberate and practised.

I watched him change the position of the ball on the tee after he'd had a chat with another player. Expert stuff. How to make an oval ball skid like a round one. And he almost pulled it off again later.

Agreed. At one stage they said we had 8 line breaks to Storm 4. And at the time Storm had converted all 4 into tries.

With us taking more of our opportunities and having a but better defence we could have been up 24-12 with 15 or so mins to go (instead of down 24-18).
