Wow! Lot's of misinformation about the whole "anthem" thing. Allow me to clarify.
The claim this was "contrived" by the Club is a lie. The membership council discussed the fact that market surveys conducted by the Club said a large majority of people who attended games wanted more crowd...
Mate, it's "all around the Shire" not "from The Shire"! If you're at Sharks Park, you've come from "all around". :)
Lighten up, mate! Have some fun, it's just a song to sing pre-game for the crowd to entertain themselves. It's not an official Club song or anything. Who knows, it might catch on.
Just a quick update to say the Club is at roughly 8.5K members. This is a great result this far out from the start of the season. I expect there will be an influx of GA (General Admission) memberships closer to kick off, as these are not reserved seating.
In regards to the delivery of the...
"We Are Sharks" - to the tune of "We Are Australian"...you know it makes sense.
"We are Sharks,
We are Cronulla,
And from all around The Shire we come,
We share a dream,
And sing with one voice,
I am, we are, CRONULLA SUTHERLAND!"

Just a quick update on the Game Day meeting last night. The whole point of this meeting was to take a "blue sky" approach to game day. Rather than say, "We can't do that..." it was about, "Why the hell can't we do that?"

Thanks for being a good sport, mate.
To be honest, I don't really think there is much difference, if any, between Souths game plan and the Sharks. Bash it up the field using the size of the pack, look for an offload now and then and play high percentage football. Neither team plays what you...
Was a bit unlucky to have been ruled to lose the ball in the ruck one time there. Replay clearly shows the Souths player on the ground plays at the ball whilst Fifita tries to play it.
In the event the fields were waterlogged, they would be closed to car parking. This is the practice adopted on the old training fields. Didn't happen too much.
As I said, there is no reason the fields would be affected by game day parking 12 days a year, it's very easily managed as proved by Cronulla Caringbah holding junior rugby league on the old training grounds for decades.
As for Lilli Pilli, they don't own the grounds. If the Council approve the...
