Without googling it or checking Wikipedia I think the 'Rabbitoh' name was added well after 1908.

Same as Canterbury were the 'Berries' for a long while before adopting the Bulldog mascot.

The story of the Souths Red & Green is that the Rabbitoh men wore standard-issue military surplus green shirts, which became bloodstained from the rabbit carcasses they often carried slung around their necks.

good point, I might have a look through the newspaper archives later and see if I can find the first mention of them under that name

Ditto Brisbane Bombers.

Yep kind of silly you could understand if they were to be based in Ipswich with the Airbase close, at Doomben they only ever had fighter squadrons fly out of that area in WWII from what I remember reading at the State museum I think they ran Cobras out of there so they should have been called the Brisbane Cobras, they may as well called them the Gallops most would have no idea of the areas real history.
