Morris obviously has faith in him if he's named him again, I've liked bits of what I've seen in him but I would like to see him back himself a bit more, instead of passing the ball off regularly go for a few runs & hit ups himself.

And if he has to pass it I'd love to see him pass it to the player not the ground at their feet...
Although I'm still not convinced that was a knock on

He got lucky last week. That pass to Duges that led to Xerri's try was terrible really. We got lucky there.

Hard to judge a guy 2 games in though. I like how he's prepared to back himself, just needs better judgement.

Your right about his passing, they have both been pretty poor passes that have gone a bit behind & more to their feet, if he wants to do passes like that he has to improve those. It looks like the passes have also been thrown when they have defenders coming up on them.

At 22 he’s still very small.. he needs to put a lot more weight on.. a lot of his issues would
Come down to his confidence and body size

Just needed to play safe really. Enough going on 1st/2nd game of FG in a very important position. If you take a high ball hold onto it for dear life and run until someone stops you.

you know, i've done the un-thinkable and changed my tune. i guess i was just disappointed we didnt land simona, but ayshford is more than a capable first grade centre, plus he is a great line runner. him off carney will be tops

no its not

you can tell if someone has it or if someone doesnt, and he doesnt

its not harsh, its life

People often need time to develop and adapt. I'm sure you didn't perform at your peak when you first started a new job. Needs to clean a few things up and get some time. I will make a judgement after he has played 10 games not 2. He is also currently in a side down on a lot of experience, which should not be forgotten

To be fair, none of us on here are actually experts, so there’s every chance any of us are wrong in our judgements, so I guess we’ll see. Regardless, two games isn’t enough to tell if someone can have a first grade career IMO. But whatever, you do you.

Well we'll see. I'm a bit in your boat in that I don't think he'll amount to much but two games is too early to tell.

After two games of NRL...

He has some good physical attributes and some poor ones.
Needs to get his confidence up attacking kicks (and actually catching them) and his decision making.

He could be a good player but will need to show more & rapidly because at the moment he is fullback #3 getting a run due to injury problems and if he doesn't take advantage of the opportunity now someone younger than him will likely move up to FB #2 or #3 before another opportunity comes his way.

His 'official' weight listing is 88kg which seems generous to me, I saw it elsewhere reported as just 80kg, regardless he looks/plays lighter than high 80s.
His decision making, placement and ball handling will have to be well above average for him to ever be a starting NRL fullback to compensate for this.
Whether he can bring his weight up without negatively impacting his speed and acceleration is a big question.

If he can't bring his weight up without slowing down he will need to be the type of fullback who passes on to his wingers 9 times out 10 which puts more pressure on him to perform as a ball player and support runner for forwards.

Can't disagree with any of that mate.
