Strangely, I still believe in Pomeroy. His hands are greasy as hell but he's big, strong and always gets into it. Unfortunately, he's like an unselfish Phil Bailey. He switches off defensively at the most inopportune times. Still, I won't be complaining if he's announced in the lineups.

Another two that might be good are Michael Gordon from Penrith and Feleti Mateo. Mateo's brilliant, and a big ball-playing lock in the- dare I say it- Bird mould, and Gordon's the best goal kicker in the comp as well as being a fast, good finisher.

Agreed.
I still rate Pomeroy by the way. Only last year he was seen as a player with a rep future, and as long as his form picks up.. alot i think he will be quite a good player for us. Dont write him off.
Completely agree i am a big fan of poms. He had a terrible year last year but 2 good years before that, being our top try scorer in one of them. This is the last year he is contracted to us and i want to see him given a chance to impress and win another contract. If he plays the same as last year then I am satisfied that he was given a chance and will be happy to let him go.
He is a strong centre with speed who scores tries and saves tries. If he can fix his handling, passing and positioning (which are 3 massive things quite obviously) then he will be great for us. If he can't then he has had enough time to do so. But it is in our best interests to give him another chance to do so.

Yeah we can do without bird.
I personally think that if our young guys live up to potential: Stapleton, Wright, Kelly, Mannah, Townsend, Orcher, Millington, Weyman etc, we will struggle to hold on to them all within our salary cap! Let alone buying more players!

He isnt written off, i think he is a safe half-back, but doesnt have the potential of a huge money contract in the future.
