we dont have an experienced coach coming in though, we have a rookie
fitz will need to be a phenomenal man manager and coach with the amount of green players we have
That’s my one concern about Fitz. I know a lot of people are “in Fitz we trust” and thats cool, I’m happy he’s coming as well as I think his style might give us back that hard edge this club has lost, but I’m just approaching it with a bit more caution for the lack of a better word because the fact is he has never coached first grade, so he’s still a big risk and by no means a sure thing to succeed. There’s always that inherit risk hiring a rookie. Fitz might be respected by the players for his work as an assistant but being a head coach requires a lot more man management skills.
I do have faith that Fitz will grow into that part of the role however as long as the club is patient with him and early indications is that the club is all in on Fitz so I think he’ll get the required time and patience.
In the meantime I think Fitz should lean on a guy like Finucane to help out Toby. I’d stick Dale and Toby together like glue and hope that Dale’s professionalism rubs off on Toby, if it does, then Rudolf could be anything.
