You mean whet the ball was stripped off him
In a 3-1 tackle
100% this - ball rifled forward 10 meters. Either he threw it forward quarter back style - or there was a defenders racking motion towards the defenders try line.

For a bloke that is playing injured, he was a machine. Shame someone like Kaufusi didn't bother to show up.

Get that penalty and we are 30 out. Instead they get the field goal.

Hold the ball with both hands when you know the ball is being played at? Try to eliminate the possibility of it being stripped and not getting the call.

Probably too tired. Plus with the ball still in play he had to get back and defend.

'loose carry'

Toby gets some serious leg drive going in tackles , made some strong runs again and gets the crowd into it a bit when he does it

Toby Rudolf - 2023
Consistent season from Toby. I'd say there was two games where his involvement was down (Rd20 and Rd24). Otherwise he was outstanding. An amazing performance considering the injury he was dealing with.

He definitely played too many minutes in the finals game, but I can't really hold that against Fitz. There was no BHU, no Finucane, an injury to Hazelton early in his stint, and two of the guys on the bench were Coquhoun and an underdone Kaufusi.

The comparison charts are where Toby really stands out...
(* apologies to the colourblind. Had to use orange. Starting to run out of colours. If you want to see a specific comparison once I'm finnished I can re-format Toby v another player in different colours).

I'll drop the full running comparison charts in the Fancy Stats thread, but these are the most relevant for Toby.

#1 - Involvement
On average, Toby does as much work as any other middle (so far) but does it for longer. Only Colquhoun (in very limited minutes) was more heavily involved in the play.

#2 - Attacking Trend
* excludes finals game

Up to ~35 minutes of ball in play (about 50 minutes of game time) Toby doesn't slow down. He'll take as many runs as anyone who is playing more than 15 minutes.

#3 - Defensive Trend

* excludes finals game

Toby makes as many tackles as any other player (so far), and does it for longer.

#4 Runs inside own 40 Trend
* excludes finals game

Toby takes more runs inside his own 40 than Kaufusi and Hunt, more than Hazelton if he plays longer than 15 minutes, and is on par with Williams.
