So you are happy for the bunker to support a ball dropped backwards being called a knock on?

Cos that’s what happens
Yeah. You drop a ball you ****ed up, you put yourself at the mercy of the ref. That **** even going to the bunker is a blight on the game.

My opinion is Burton's shot should've got 10 if Tom's did. Wait & see the MRC's penalty I guess. But life aint always fair, doesn't mean its a conspiracy against you.

But I hate captain challenge and forensic examination of drop balls or guessing the intent of players.

Yep. At the end of the day that's footy. The bounce of the ball isn't always even.

It's harder to cop the MRC being different with ample time to view it, in the moment **** happens.

Having a player binned or sent off in a trial game is pretty redundant anyway. Both teams want to see how they fare against a full side.

Not many games end without a sin bin now. Defending with 12 in a trial isn't a waste, you're gonna have to do it plenty during the year.

I’d be happy for them to not do this.
Id just like to see;

- Consistency
- Common sense
- Howlers to be over ruled

The rest I can live with As long as they don’t analyse the play to death and find a bees dick, finger tip touch for a knock on which can’t be seen with the naked eye.

And BTW, I also disagreed with some of the calls in our favour (not that you could hear me from all the way over here), so it wasn’t just “sharks goggles”

This bloke turns slower than a boat, liability against quick stepping players

I don't think anyone would disagree mate. But consistency is never gonna be 100% achievable, common sense isn't common & the odd howler always gets through. It's a made up game with made up rules, adjudicated on by humans who aren't flawless - best not to take it too seriously.

Yep I agree and I’m not expecting 100% accuracy but would like it to be closer than it currently is (I think there is a lot of room for improvement here)

unfortunately, I also agree, common sense is a dying commodity but wouldn’t it be nice to have it???

All big men are a liability against little agile blokes. The reverse is true as well - Mahoney not that little or fleet footed but Tom planted him.

Actually on Mahoney he gets worse every time I see him play since leaving Parra.

I think "it" changes. 20yrs ago it was common sense to answer your phone when it rang, now you're better off letting it go through to the keeper as its much more likely to be a scammer or beggar.

Abe Simpson has a good quote about "it".

I still think he’s in the team round 1.
Not necessarily my picks but I see something like Toby & Kaufusi starting props. Dale or McInnis #13 with the other in #14. Jack will be on the bench. I reckon Royce will be too. Tom's a fair chance as I can't think of a utility player to pick over forward grunt. If Dale doesn't play (dunno his injury) he's almost guaranteed a spot.

If anyone is playing themselves into a spot it's Oregon

Involvement rate was still up there (I think) but imo his runs are less effective one off the ruck than when he runs wide off Cam.

I don't think he's at any risk of missing out for round 1, given the injury cloud over 3 other middles (BHU, JC, Dale).
