Yeah than she went on to beat "my girl" in the final.
By 0.03 of a point. Epic conditions for the girls final day.

you mean my girl.

not sure on the 9. i mean it deserved the highest score of the heat, but really, some of the high scores we are seeing that involve a fall are getting ridiculous

NO MY GIRL !!!!!

How good is it seeing the no ski assist.
That why I reckon we were watching
More of them falling off.
Paddling that far would have to take it toll.

Must super fit. 1 wave and I would
Be gooone.

Yeah some of the girls 9s I've seen over the last year or so have not been all that impressive.

I like the way Courtney surfs though.

Yep. No one surfs like JJF at the moment.

It was only today i was talking to a mate about it, i started surfing after i watched the endless summer II when it came out. Pat O was the man to me. Then there was the Fiji section, with KS tearing about Cloudbreak. He surfed that 10-12 wave so effortlessly, he was surfing that better than what most guys are today. He was well above his era of surfers, hence is success. I see JJF just like that, while guys like Gabriel and Filepe are doing huge rotations and are hitting the barrel, none of them are doing it and looking so relaxed like JFF is, its like he is surfing at 80% of his capability, when hes doing things that seem impossible to everyone else.

Mate i grew up idolising those guys, parko, fanning, durbidge, dean morrison etc, all south qld boys. Durbo was from straddy i think. They were all a bit older than me, but would be at local jnr comps etc. and all have always been a step above their peers. So cool that for there to be 35 surfers on the world tour, at 1 point there was 6 or 7 of them all from that part of the world. Beer is good too

I haven't surfed up there for about 15 years. I ****ing loved it last time I did.

The waves weren't anywhere near that good but the crowds were manageable. I don't know how I feel about it now.

I don't think I've ever surfed waves that look like that, but I don't think I can handle that type of crowd on the off chance I might score a decent one.

If I'm going to take a surfing holiday I'd sooner travel up and down the NSW coast looking for a secluded area with 6 or 7 out of 10 surf.

I surfed it similar size and crowds to that about 2 years ago.
the surf was pumping and the waves dont stop like a mechanical wave pool , if your patient you will get a wave, think i got 3 solid waves in about 2 hours but no barrels,
im on my back hand and waves so fast for my aging back hahahaha.

That sounds alright then. I'd be satisfied with that count with those waves and that crowd.

If I had my board I'd definitely go out to see what happened.

Mate anywhere from the great lakes, to the border you will be able to find empty beachies everywhere. seals rocks, celitos, blueys, boomerang, treachery. then all the forster beaches. Old bar/saltwater/wallabi, crowdy/diamond then up to port/bonny hills, north haven, then there plomer. My favourite camping/surfing spot on the coast mate

i understand that they woulda been 3 good waves, but 3 waves in 2 hours..........not even worth it. I surfed snapper a few years ago crowded, wasnt enjoyable. The pass at byron, no better.

You know when You have one of those surfs knew we were not going to get 30 waves.
didn't really care We were hungover the sun was shining.
Was fun just watching kooks bailing. Drop ins nearly punch ups.

Only good thing about the pass is the Brazilian chicks on long boards wearing gstrings.

Haha i did a trip to byron when i was about 13 or 14 with a mate n his family. Day 1, wake up, raining, run down to the wreck and on the beach is a naked woman. Not just topless but completely naked. I was only young and this was the first live naked woman id seen in my life.
