I know this really has nothing to do with surf but I didnt really want to make a new sports thread as this is only on once a year. However, does anyone at all follow the Rolex Sydney to Hobart race every year?

Finals day Pipeline masters, not the biggest waves but super clean conditions.

Shame to see it finish in sub-par conditions, low scoring affair. Congrats to Bourez though, hes a very good surfer, quiet achiever.

On another note, bought a Slater Designs SCI-FI last friday, yet to try it out, conditions have been poor here. There is hope for an early tomorro though

um not sure, i know he was riding the omni at one point that has the rounded square nose on it. the sci fi im sure he was riding too.

Update: Finally got the slater in the water this morning, had a good 2-3 hour surf in some off sure semi-full waves. Board went well. Until a 3.2m great white shut the beach down

Was good to see wright get up his head injury was crazy 14 months ago.

Same with steph, love to see her take beachleys place in the record books.

Thought slater was jipped in his quarter. He tore that last wave apart as did medina. I didnt think there was thst big a margin sperating them on those final waves

So good.

I reckon Steph is such a better surfer than Beachley. She deserves the record.

Yeah I reckon Slater should have beaten Medina.

Margies today. Solid swell and it's meant to hold for a couple of days and maybe even get bigger. Loving it.

When that section dropped in front of him and foamed up i thought he was done. If his his barrel started at that point, it woulda still been a 10.

I was watching a interview of him at Margaret's river
and he is using his influence of snowboarding the big drawn out turns
into his surfing on those big solid waves with heaps of face. he is so mental

keeps his concentration up and will go B2B world titles.
