Irrespective of the fact that we are apparently meeting with Todd Carney.

I'll put my hard earned on the fact that he won't be with us next year.

If Carney is announced I'm going to back him 100%.

But still think it's a bad idea up until that point.

good to here MB. glad your not one of those that make idle threats about leaving the club or dropping support if he signs due to apparent bad image. which BTW is bull**** IMO. would LG have still walked if were leading the comp, winning games and high television exposure. i think not.

we need to back our club. regardless of playing roster.

I think it will be great for the club to sign him but we are mugs if we give him anything close to the $400k figure that Kent was throwing around not for the first year anyway.

If he and his manager think he can command that kind of coin for next year they have both had a few too many.

Wherever he ends up you would have to think it would be a one year deal for around half that.

It would be the ultimate indignity though if we went public and said yes we want him we are willing to give him a chance and we table an offer and he still signs somewhere else.

From what I understand LG were always going to leave the Sharks. Their contract was up at the end of that year and their global marketing strategy changed. I think the media liked to make out they left because of the off-field stuff OR Lucky Goldstar used it as an excuse to leave the Sharks.

As soon as Carney signs with the Sharks he's a Shark and I'll back him 110% and really hope that he keeps it all together and will even be excited about the good possibilities, while always being in fear of the bad possibilities.
