Better to give Moylan a week's rest, if Trindall is still the best option by Monday, then Moylan can play for Newtown the following week once the publicity dies down.

Why not? Serious question.

Used to happen in the old old days yes, but these days when a regular first grader gets dropped, he rarely plays NSW Cup.

I think they see it as a bit of a humiliation, although I personally don’t think it should be thought of like that.

No way. Toby played there 3 weeks ago pretty sure. If that’s Moylans attitude then he can simply retire if he’s not willing to put in the hard yards to try find some form that warrants him being in the conversation for a return to first grade.

He was coming back from injury it’s entirely different regardless if your follow up point being fair enough

Toby was not dropped. He was returning from long term injury.

I hear you mate, I don’t disagree but I think it’s the modern way of looking out for their mental health.

As Bort said, Toby came back from injury, totally different situation.

Yep and Moylan’s played every game this year (and 24 last year). If Trindall doesn’t fire, we are best to have Moylan back fresh.

Many would have never thought we’d see a reality where you could say Moylan has played so many games a rest might do him good

So you want this bloke to simply stop playing footy? And if trindall in 3 weeks gets injured just bring him back in?

Mate, I don’t know. But the coaching staff has made a decision not to play him this week so there must be a reason. And no one is saying he’s not going to play for 3 weeks.

Let’s just see how it plays out.

Hey Groovers .
While most of us love the Jets and Sharks relationship as it has benefits for BOTH Clubs.
I am wondering after hearing Arrow ( NRL360 ) say how Latrell showed his passion holding up a potential try scorer in an opposed session with their Reggies ( NSW Cup side ) today.
I am wondering , do we do our opposed sessions against the Jets and IF not is this detrimental especially to our defence ?
Can Snowy or Burgess let us know if we do opposed sessions with the Jets in training regularly ?

Happy to be corrected, but I think the answer is no. I thought they operate completely independently. Sharks players train with our squad then head back to Newtown for games. The guys playing down there don't even train much with them let alone the top side.

But in saying that none of the rabbitohs reserve players without a fulltime contract are taking work off to do an opposed session with the NRL team I imagine

I didn't see him being played for the Jets either but being dropped to park footy and playing in front of 300 fans sinking tinnies on a hill should be the motivation to do everything in your power to avoid that occurring. First grade should be sacred and never taken for granted.

Instead he gets to sit in an air conditioned room with Captain Baldo, still getting paid and not even having to give us a smirk or a head shake
