Agreed. The team who played the Sharks trial on the weekend is probably pretty close to the Jets best 17. Can’t see him forcing his way in ahead of any of those guys.

Players can improve though - especially middle forwards. Jolliffe played plenty of 3rd grade.

Need to add in Ferris and Jensen into that team too. That's a bit of an upgrade on that backline.

I’d be happy for either of those two to take Milnes spot and I expect they will. Where do you guys see Milne playing this year? Out of everyone from that trial he was the least impressive. Seemed to have a terrible attitude, kicking his feet and dropping his head, I wouldn’t be happy as a coach seeing it even if it was a trial.

Lucky to get a bench spot at this rate I'd say, he was lucky Jensen (injured) and Ferris (??) weren't in the trial so he could get a start.

Although the Jets roster may be heavily impacted by Sharks main squad (even if we do get lucky with injuries) as we will be carrying an 18th & 19th man.
From current Sharks squad Wilton/Magoulias/Trindall/Hiroti are likely to make up these positions pretty regularly I'd say.
If either Wilton or Mags is in the 18/19 then that potentially keeps Milne in the Jets team.

Yeah - agree with all that. Jets regular 17 will probably be 10-12 who played that trial, plus 2-3 Sharks who didn’t, plus a few Jets contracted blokes who Matterson is in love with (a la Matt Evans, Wes Lolo).

Woolford, Dillon, Tamou, Phillips and a few others would be considered genuine options to play plenty

Not sure if this is known but Canberra have decided to join the comp last minute and one of the reasons no draw has been released yet.

Where were they playing last year?

They were with the Mounties.

Now that i remember it's been known a while Canberra were joining but might still have been last minute from a draw perspective. That's what the guy at the Jets told me.

Yeah - Canberra announced a few weeks ago that they were in. I think I posted that a few pages ago. Warriors are also out. They are sending players to Redcliffe in the Q Cup.

The other thing throwing a spanner in the works is the teams who have opted out of the Jersey Flegg (Knights, Raiders and one more I think). They try to align the schedules as close as possible, so late entries/withdrawals in both comps must be a bit of a pain.

The following rounds will have all three grades (21’s, Jets, NRL) as a triple header

Round 3 away v Parra
Round 9 away v Penrith

It doesn’t happen at home

Nor should it imo. Jets should play at Henson.

The Jets do play before the Sharks this weekend for an away game. Just not an all 3 grades situation because Flegg play Saturday.

With the upgrades at Henson early on they get a run of 7 of 8 at home later in the year. What’s 7 x 8972?
