Thanks for sharing that. I was hoping their would be a solution to players training with the NRL squad but playing for the Jets.

It also sounds like going off comments from Abdo yesterday that if the situation stays the same or improves then there could actually be no bubble next year but it's important to start planning now for a bubble.
I still think they could have gotten the comps going for a short period this year and were too hasty to end the comp.
Easy to say in hindsight, but loads of things stopping quickly helped contribute to the overall slowing of spread. Many things that shut down could probably look back and say they could have got away with not doing so but that's based on having a fairly good outcome from the fact that so many things did shut down.
The feeder comps maybe would have run fine but the NRL wanted to maximise the chance they could get through the season so they had to keep a strict bubble which then locked players out of being able to drop down to Cup.
Of course but they just cancelled it. They could have postponed it to a shorter comp in July for example and worked with the NRL and if they had to cancel it a bit later so be it.
Not much point going on about it i guess, just frustrates me that players like Pele, Trindall, Ferris and the like missed out on valuable development time.
Did we do much with that relationship? Last I heard was the original announcement
I think they sent some players over late last pre-season. There were other plans, but Covid knocked them on the head.
The best part of this is that they are looking to broadcast it. More feeders and Flegg games on TV is a great thing for the game IMHO.
I reckon only rusted on fans will watch it mate tbh, can't see it having any real benefit for the game.
Don't get me wrong, I'll be happy if it happens as I'll watch when I can.
I mean for the good of rugby league - as distinct from the NRL.
More exposure and more sponsorship of lower grades and juniors = more full time footballers. Maybe down the track it pays for one extra $65k development spot for each club. Now there are 16 more guys who can work part time (or study) and concentrate on footy instead of having to work 40+ hour weeks. That's a net benefit to the game of rugby league even if none of these players ever make the NRL.
