When was the last time a Cronulla side had a softer defence than we do this year?

I don’t recall it. Seems like we can’t defend a full set unless the other team makes an error. It’s completely embarrassing to watch

Bomber has certainly improved our attack but you could almost say he has taken it away to improve our attack. A few of our players are so weak we cannot even hold onto the players.

No line speed, no sliding defence, can't wrap the ball and no one wraps the legs. Also, bunch of shirt grabbers too.

Defence is an attitude thing.Also becomes harder when you dont have confidence in the blokes around you. Players start taking the wrong assignment as they dont have faith with their teammates ability
Also think our fitness levels are nowhere near the same as the top sides. They are far more explosive with and without ball

Fair enough. I was in Europe that year so wasn’t doing a whole lot of watching the NRL.

I do recall our team being filled with absolute dross that year though and collected the spoon, so no surprises. This team has a lot more talent, yet still defends like this.

I saw Woods slap a guy like it was a game of touch. Soft efforts all round the park. 28 points is enough to nearly win every game this year, except we let in some of the softest **** known to man

Honestly it looked like we didn’t give a rats ass This game because Canberra fielded a sub standard side, we we did the same and played to not get injured. Our defence was woeful, as it’s been all year, and the new guys hand NFI how to fit into the structure.
To be fair the incumbents probably have NFI , we don’t have a strategy when it comes to defending our line and it tells when you see guys jumping out and leaving gaping holes in the middle. Canberra are going to tear us a new one next week. Can’t believe I’m hanging out for Chad to return.
