Appalling performance. And to let one of the worst attacks of the comp score 5 tries speaks volume about the state of our defence at this point of the season.
There's a lot to work on before the finals.

It's the most points the dragons have scored all year. How bad is that...

Well embarrassing but not the end of the world, hurts to lose here but the Merge were very good, teams are lifting to play us, clearly.

I'd look at dropping Beale out for awhile, need to work on attack in oppo 20, just can't score from there, everything's long distance atm. If I see yet another cut out backline play to Barba sweeping on the right I'll know for sure Flanno is a lemon.

Still plenty of footy to be played, let's hope we fix up the defence before the finals.

Why would you drop Beale? Attack isn't the issue its the soft tries up the middle. Beale played better than bird when he was at centre today. Beale is out best defensive centre. He only gets caught out when shifted to the wing.

We are pretenders. Just wish the wheels fell of before I went out and bought GF tickets, flights and accomodation.

I'm hearing you.
Basic recruitment 101 , let a 115kg prop go mid season , make sure you find a similar replacement .
Maybe you can swap the tickets and accommodation for the first semi in Melbourne

I knew it was a bad idea but I let the mrs talk me into getting in early. Hard to get reasonably priced tickets to Sydney on short notice from here and we looked a lock to be going deep into the finals when we booked but should of known better with this team and its never ending quest for mediocrity.

Sorry for the negativity but iv had a **** of a week and that **** show last night just topped it off.

Im still pissed with what we've dished up the last few weeks, however ive been saying for months now all these wins were covering up big issues in our side, mainly defense, discipline and handling. Every game its leaking points off errors or penalties and letting sides march up field. I think we've lost our chance at 1st, i think 1 more win secures second. It is close to the finals but hopefully these last few games give the club a kick in the ass.

As for the fifita release biting us, my understanding of it is that the club basically had no choice. What i heard from a club sponsor i wont right on here publicly though

Hopefully we will sort it and win another game before the Semi's .
Some BIG packs to be played against , doesn't bode too well .
Thanks for the Fifita input , if that was the case the right decision was made .
But still can't believe we couldn't source a replacement . Wasn't St George Sims on the market then ?
Size and hard running might of fitted the bill .

what i heard on fifita is what he was told by the club. But yes, i think a prop should have been sourced immediately also, but then again, who says we werent looking?

On the sharkcast flanno made mention about not wanting to break the bank due to the need for retention next year. Id say they were looking but couldn't get anyone for the right price.

Also have we forgotten the short ball at the line to a forward? Seems to have been months since ive seen ennis throw one. Even if it doesnt work it seems to help suck the defence in.

Funny how quickly public sentiment changes taga has been below par for a good chunk of the season attack wise I agree but his defence would have been handy last night, especially after losing gal in warm up... Bad omen last night even the Indian resturant stuffed up my order, then couldn't be bothered driving back cause I would have missed the kickoff.

Bad night all round .
I believe you're right about missing size in defence .
Other Big teams make metres up our centre . Not having Taga exacerbates the problem .
When on song and not passed bad balls at the impact zone , he goes alright .

Poor loss. No point dwelling on it. Obviously there are areas of concern re defence and errors that need to be addressed. Need to secure 1 win in next three then start the finals as new comp. I'm not giving up hope . We have the capacity to beat any team we have shown that. Yes we have played poorly for the last month but we didn't get to 2nd by chance.

I think we've already peaked and will only get worse from here. I saw our best footy first half v Broncos. Since then it's all been mediocre at best, we've just been lucky in some games. I see that luck running out into the finals. Look at the Broncos they were killing it at the start of the year and now they've won like 2/8? I see that being us and bundling out early unfortunately.

But we also have the capacity to lose any game. Thats what they need to realise now. They won 15 straight, thats great, melbourne didnt win 15 straight and are still above us. We arent the pace setters of the competition.

As i said hopefully 2 losses and a draw have woken us up and the next 3 weeks sees us build into form for the finals. Id rather a form slump now than week 1

I reckon a lot of our guys are playing injured. No excuse of course but it's a long season and niggling injuries are going to happen.

100%. Must secure 1 win then start finals fresh. If last night wasn't a big enough wake up then don't know what is.

Storm been good all year, raiders up until last week have faded In and out games all year long, cows lost last week Broncos n dogs been uninspiring all year. If I was to put up a grand final market it's the storm v any one of the next 4, if Canberra do a number on the storm tomorrow night it may well change the landscape again. Time for the older more experienced heads to come together and lift the boys.
