I'd like to see Flanno employ a motivational speaker. I vote for Slide.

How much motivation do they need knowing they could be the first side in 50yrs (clubs history) to do what no others before them have achieved. To have your name etched in history as the 1st to achieve it. The winning post is within sight.

Winning the comp will be terrible for our recruitment. No more players coming here to be a part of history.

We could field a NSW Cup team for the next 5 years I don't give a ****, just win it then rebuild again
We can sell the history angle on 'first ever Sharks premiership defense' lol

I'm not saying these games are not important, I want top 2. But I don't want going in like they are must wins, burning fuel we don't have just to go in with another win. It's like setting the world on fire in the heats and don't win gold.

Do what we need to keep 2nd but don't go all out, risk injury or further our player fatigue.

Your are also right in keeping some momentum, but it's a fine line between win at all cost or play well and survive the games left

A lot of boxers line up big money fights, only to get starched in "warm-up" fights right before it by guys who no one gave a chance. The top atheletes always come in ready to do business. Regardless of who the opponent is. At the top level, its what separates the champions from the also rans.

You train how you play, and you play how you train. And thats currently showing if what Flanno is saying is true and the boys are being rested during the week. Waiting until the melbourne game or the finals to "Fire back up" is a dangerous mindset.

My experience says that Players are more likely to get injured if they go in half arsed.

But you would have to agree, it's better to not go full throttle now and wait until the finals.

As I said do enough to maintain our spot, but no need to play our best games on rd 24 25 or 26

Western Sharkie, 100% agree with that mate, I'm just thinking the boys have finals in the back of the mind.

Look at the missed tackles, lately we have had a heap. The boys don't have the some sting in Defence. Everyone always says that Attitude plays a massive part.

This is my point.
If the boys don't fire up in attitude and sting in defence from now and they wait to finals start, then it's too late. We WILL be out in straight sets.
That's why I don't think they should "do just enough to stay top 2".
I'm not having a crack at you, I'm just expressing my view on the situation and why I think they need to build in intensity now and take some winning momentum into the finals. If that means putting effort in, then that's what I think should happen. Just MHO.

Was this game the hoodoo breaker for Ben Barba? There is the stat that we hadn't lost a game in which is has scored. Don't think he scored in the raiders game but I could be wrong

Yep. We are done folks. Won't win another game

Harold Holt is nailed to the perch. He ain't ever coming back.

The way we have played last 3 weeks we don't deserve it.
And we won some games in that streak that had more to do with luck than skill

Good luck flanno turning this around

Yep show whether that extension was the right call or week 2 of the finals is good enough for this club. The **** we're dishing up coming into the business end of the season is alarming.

We are pretenders. Just wish the wheels fell of before I went out and bought GF tickets, flights and accomodation.

I'm hearing you.
Basic recruitment 101 , let a 115kg prop go mid season , make sure you find a similar replacement .
Maybe you can swap the tickets and accommodation for the first semi in Melbourne

Good thing I've never made a wrong call before. :)

Here's some of the ones I'm quite happy to revisit now..

Flanno - get rid
Barba - no chance of regaining any form
Prior - dud
Ennis - don't want him here
Gal - won't win a comp with him as captain.
