Trindall has been pretty awful this year.

However he hasn’t been brought on as a controlling/kicking 7 which is how he showed his potential at the end of last season. He has been brought on as an impact 14 with 20 minutes to change a game…….he has basically looked panicked and rushed the second he gets on to try and show his wares.
True. I'm sure he will be back to the Jets soon to continue his development and show everyone what he can do back in the traditional role.

Just need Tracey back as 14.

Moylans value goes up the longer he stays healthy.
(Not by necessarily a huge amount, but by some amount)

A toss up for him to shoot for a deal now while he’s playing vs back himself to stay healthy.

Doesn’t mind a bit of a punt so if he’s desperate to sign something now maybe a bad sign?

Starting conversation now doesn’t necessarily mean he’s trying to get it done ASAP though…. but another factor to consider if he is in a rush, Dolphins are still in the hunt and it’s worth it to be one of the guys they fork out for if you can be

Gumbys right.
Offer a 1 year deal .
Moylans says " no way "
Gets 1 - 1.2 mil for 2 years somewhere else .
Trindall /Hynes our halves next year
Gumby , Punisher and Wiz all happy
Unless there is another scenario ?

Not necessarily
Theres players out there who we can pick up if Moylan rejects out offer
It puts us in a position of clarity to speak to them

There are no halves of note that come off contract for the 2023 season thou (That we would want).

So if you are happy for Moylan to walk, you need to accept a Nicho/Trindall or Nicho/Tracey halves combo for 2023.

FIVE-EIGHTH

Kieran Foran, Matt Frawley, Ben Hampton, Lachlan Lam, Matt Moylan, Hayze Perham, Jaeman Salmon, Simi Sasagi, Ashley Taylor, Billy Walters

10 players off contract

HALFBACK

Phoenix Crossland, Kurt Falls, Chanel Harris-Tavita, Cooper Johns, Albert Kelly, Jock Madden, Anthony Milford, Kodi Nikorima, Sean O'Sullivan, Brandon Wakeham, Sam Williams

Nikorima could actually go alright with us too I reckon. Under a good coach he can be a pretty good player.

But on the list you are right, very slim pickings.

We’d be mad to stick with Nicho Trindall with Tracey as the third choice.

Then from list Lam, crossland, CHT, Kelly, Madden and OSullivan are all a better option to come in and compete with Trindall than just having Tracey as option 3
Even Nikorima and Walters. You can’t just have Hynes, Trindall, Tracey.

Miller may or may not be an option - unclear still how NRL ready he is and also if we would play him in halves or just fullback.

Jack Wighton hasn't taken up his player option for next year as far as I'm aware.

Ash Taylor will need a hip replacement - shout Robbo some scalp wax and we are good, that bloke was durable!

I want O’Sullivan here. Bloke can play.

I like him, I wanted us to get him before the start of this season because I felt he brought something different to what Moylan brings and it would of been good to have that option if the Moylan/Hynes combo lacked the structure and control we MIGHT of needed, he’d be the kind of halfback that can take some of kicking pressure off of Hynes. Im worried about his injury history though and also how he hasn’t really cemented his spot in first grade yet.

Probably all moot anyway, I thought the Dolphins nabbed him for next season, his old man works up there doesn’t he?

Not an exciting signing but would provide a good (and somewhat similar) challenge between he and Trindall for the jersey. Has been linked to Dolphins but don't think anything official. Does seem likely though.

He's two years younger than Hynes, not like there is no prospect of a 24/25 year old half locking down a start in the NRL.

Oh no did I just suggest someone could get better with age again... when he is Hynes' ages he might go to an Olympics!
Or whatever
