Yeah I just don't understand the length of contract I guess. Three years? He's not a Des, Bellamy, Bennett etc. We've just set ourselves up for a payout imo. As I said, I doubt he was in huge demand.

We have a good track record of Paying out coaches, if flanno goes that will make it 3 in a row no doubt some sort of NRL Record. And all three have cost us big time on and off the field .

You would like to think we would or should have a performance clause and maybe KPI.

The coaches contract could include an incentive bonus for over performance ie top 6 top 4 Grand final humungus bonus etc and a get out clause for us if they don't shape up to agreed expectations.

Didn't Tricky Ricky quit?
Why would we pay him out if HE quit!

Upon reflection you are right , oh bugger, but it was either a photo finish or we paid him to quit, either way our track record of selecting the right kind of Coach has been very very poor.

The ensuing legacy they have left us has been a around a decade of damage

Lang was our last good coach.
He developed our young blokes and wasn't afraid to play them.

Can't say that about our current coach!

This.

Without a doubt Lang was the best of our line of coaches.

What came after that was like the dog **** that you find on the bottom of your shoe after you walk through the house.

Except the house was Sharks Leagues Club - and both the footprints and the smell are still there.

Lang was a great people Manager it was him the helped and allowed Peach and little peach to bloom and develop . When they were on it was such great entertainment.

They would not have developed or survived under our current coaching style

This bloke is a top CEO, he generally wants us to vent our frustrations about the club to him.
The Sharks are the product that he sells to us as members and supporters when we buy memberships, jerseys, ticket entry and when we purchase anything on game day. I say voice your validated frustrations to Lyall, the more vocal the more chance things will move.

Even if it doesn't happen overnight, at least you plant the idea in his mind to do something.

It really doesnt matter how well this guy is doing, on field performances sells tickets, not off field performances.

Our players can visit 100 hospitals and run 100 junior league clinics a week but that doesnt make people want to go and watch them play.

I see what you're saying but it isn't Gorman's fault that we aren't winning games.

Correct however surely he is getting frustrated all his hard work means nothing if we aren't winning games.

Yeah true. I'm hoping that by doing the work off the field that during the tough times we can build a loyal fan base and when we eventually turn the corner, those people will still be coming plus the casual fans as well.

Where is this corner you speak of. Hope we approach it soon!
Agree about this bloke though. Seems to be a top operator.

Realistically, I doubt the CEO would be thinking about firing a coach 4 weeks into a 3 year contract. I think it's more believable that Flanno will be given until Origin to turn the fortunes around.
