One thing I will say about Flanno, I enjoy listening to him in commentary.

Fox really need to spend some money here because the quality of their commentary has deteriorated badly over the past few years.

Yeah need to asses from getting big name footy players that struggle to talk to actually having some footy smarts people in there.

Heard on the radio this morning that Tallis was giving us grief for dropping Chambers for sledging, does the **** not watch our games and see how **** he has been last 2 weeks?

Going back to coaching, our sides are known for having a go and putting in all effort, lately that’s lacking big time. Our line speed is non existent. No kick pressure or solid kick chase. Biggest one is can defend an error.

Our good side could give 50 penalties away but we defended our bums off.

Mate, all your comments on this page show just how desperate you are to push your agenda to get Flanno back.

I think you really need to realise it is not going to happen.

I'm all for us to have our favourites but you push for him so much that it is a little cringeworthy.

You can always predict there'll be a Wizard post shortly after someone says something just a little bit negative against Flanno.

Mate, he was a great coach for us and was there in the right place and the right time.

I'll always be grateful to him for getting us that premiership.

I do agree with you and HB that he is terrific on Fox, love hearing him give his views.

But it is very hard if not impossible to see him ever coming back.

I've got a horrible feeling that we are going to see a lot more of Smarmy Smith. If so, for me that will be the final nail in Ch9's coffin. I just can't stand the entitled, know it all tosser.

loved Flanagan as a coach, best coach we ever had. Would love him back in any capacity especially now as the club has a big void in coaching/football smarts - everyone has their own thoughts.

Yes agree

His insights and articulation during a game make me feel he still has a great handle on the game and would have little trouble adapting to first grade coaching under the new rule set and interpretations . I think he would now what sort of players he would need as well

It's at the point for me now that 9 is often better than Fox. Anasta is horrible, Blocker is as thick as a plank....there are others.

Gotta feel for Andy Raymond, is a ripper commentator, with a touch of well timed humour. Must make him cringe this current crop. Especially Anasta who i agree is terrible, who he trained up.

I took my young fella to Monster Jam in April (**** that's a long two hours!!!) and Andy was the MC.

I think you need digital radio with the ability to pause, I looked into it years ago when 9 still had the cricket. Can probably do it over the net now.

Jeez Chaddy its only 3pm. Still plenty of time for that.

As for Dan Ginnane, I’m going to defend him. I still listen to him on Triple M and I listen to him on Fox. I think this is a case of Dan being 100% more comfortable on FM radio where the atmosphere in the commentary box is a lot more relaxed and loose then it is on telly. Dan’s been working with guys like Ryan Girdler and Wendell Sailor a few years now and I think Dan and Ryan do a good job carrying Sailor who’s a ****ing moron. I think Dan might still just be trying to find his way in the different more serious style that you need on TV. Give him time, I think he’ll get there.

Watching the second episode of the tigers doco at the moment… I swear that what our dressing room must be like, no talk players don’t seem engaged with the coach…

which is why it is of extra and even more importance that we nail the basics that are within the teams control but we arn't even managing that. we have been in so many close games this season to go on to lose them

not kicking for touch successfully, not taking a penalty goal, drop balls, bad PTb, not making the extra effort in a tackle, not pushing up with the defensive line. these things are letting us down regardless of if we play our full cap of players or half of it. Players like SJ have band aided over the cracks for too long. We have been passive, soft and unfocused since coach Flanagan got booted

100%. I know we have had bad runs of injuries but these are just another excuse and deflection for not doing the above.
