I thought he was pretty good when he played at the Knights, and he was solid with Parra. I guess he's a decent hooker just don't want him calling the shots at half or 5/8

Really that would only happen if 2 of the 3 of Porter, Barrett and Buster would injured (assuming Buster stays). I am comfortable with that sort of depth when you add Morris. Hopefully he can do a good job at hooker as well since we need a good one.

Buster is likely to be calling the shots elsewhere.

There is another 5/8 they are chasing very hard.

what a monumental f*ck up this will be

Tigers fans are rejoicing, im cursing :rant

We know you're not happy with it, you're not happy with much. I'm sure most around here are like me and just assume you're opinion is gonna be one of tanties and dummy spits.

Noting we need something around dummy half next season, what would you have done?

I’d like to see Seu Seu become an 80 minute player, but I know Ricky loves having an impact hooker coming off the bench. He did the same thing with DeGois, but from what I’ve seen of Newcastle this year, they seem to be using him for the whole game (I might be wrong with this). I think he also used Craig Wing in a similar way at the Roosters, but I can’t remember who the other hooker they used was?

De Gois usually interchanges with George Ndaira at Newy. As I said somewhere else, I think there are only 3 hookers who play the 80 and they are the 3 top hookers in the game (Smith, Farah & Ennis) so you'd expect that. Even Daniel Anderson changed his mind on hooker rotations pretty quick - he was never inclined to have a replacement 9 on the bench but now runs one at Parra each week. Just the way the game has become. Unless they're the duck's nuts of hookers, they get rotated.

Stick moved Wing around plenty at the Roosters from hooker, halves and even centre at one stage. Heath Lestrange comes to mind as the other hooker at the Chooks but I could be wrong.

???? who????

Pretty sure he would have said who if he could.

Can't be that many 5/8ths on the market. Someone grab a list and let the speculation begin!

Just in case peaches hasn't popped every blood vessel in both eyes after last night's history making 4th Origin series win and the almost confirmation of the signing of John Morris, I'll say Brett Finch is looking for a Club next year.

Holdsworth? Tim Smith? Monaghan? Campbell? Out of ideas. Maybe young Kelly? Why would we be looking for a 5/8 anyway. If anything just a good young gun, which would put Kelly in contention.

On another note how long did we sign Barret for? 2 years?

Signed Baz for 09/10.

I'll toss another name in there; Todd Carney.

CRONULLA'S form reversal has kicked the club's 2010 recruitment drive up a gear, with Tigers utility John Morris set to become their second purchase in a fortnight.

After snaring Manly back-rower Adam Cuthbertson last week, the Sharks are now on the verge of signing the versatile Morris as a hooker for the next three years.

His arrival will place the future of several Sharks in limbo, particularly veteran rake Corey Hughes. Others said to be feeling the pinch are Brett Kearney, Luke Covell and Misi Taulapapa.

Well firstly well done Great White... Again...

Secondly i can obviously see why it puts Corey Hughes in doubt, as Morris is his replacement! But i dont see why it has to put anyone else in doubt as we should still have plenty of money left.

Nah, totally different player. Morris is a couple years younger as well and has a LOT more speed.

Basically Hughes is not gonna be here in 2010, leaving us 2 first grade experienced hooking options in Terry Seu Seu and Tony Caine. According to GW, Caine's knee is not reliable and is the reason he's been in and out of the team the last 4-6 weeks.

No better hookers on the market that I know of, and Morris ain't that bad. He's by no means a gun player but, he does his job and is much better out of dummy half than in the halves where he is at the moment.
