Just heard Johnny Gibbs saying we are going to sign John Morris from the Tigers as a hooker for next year. Anyone else here this? What do you think? Seu seu played really well last night and Tony caine has shown potential. I guess he would be a handy 5/8 replacement if Baz is playing origin or injured.

Yeah I assumed John Morris.

John Morris is a complete hack and he would be horrible at the Sharks. Not sure of his ability at hooker but based on watching him play 5/8 I wouldn't want him.

Definitely not a worthy replacement for Bas. Seymour is way better than John Morris on a bad day.

I wish it was Josh Morris !!!!! As hooker I suppose he would be ok but I have been stoked with Cory Hughes return to form over the past two games, he has lifted big time and I would keep him over John Morris.

Cory Hughes is not in form. He threw so many bad passes to Porter it wasn't funny. Porter carried him.

I totally agree he would be a rubbish signing. Gibbs sounded pritty sure this is going to happen. It wouldnt suprise me nothing will after letting Degois go and then signing Hughes. IMO i think he is crap but better than corey

Maybe for Corey Hughes standard he is in form. He has nothing and last night as soon as seu seu came on the game swayed back in our favour. Seu seu played nearly 50 mins last night..

We dont need john morris.. I agree with moving seymour to hooker with seu seu on the bench. There is no way porter will be dumped any time soon.

Hell no please... I hope we don't sign him, we don't need him. We should develop Caine more or even give Buster a go at dummy half. We shouldn't waste our money on him, his best days are behind him. And Seu Seu is going great, we should keep him.

I totally agree with you here. IF we need to sign a hooker, Henderson would be ideal.

Morris is utter rubbish. I would rather keep hughes any day of the week. Henderson would be sensational but i think we should develop Caine he has alot of potential.

Must be a mistake. Gibbs is full of it.

He is a utility play at best and well past his used by date.

If there is anything we have learnt from the past two months is we should be looking to our junior ranks for development of a hooker.

Theses guys have really stood up in first grade and we still have Caine and Seu.

I am going to say this every time someone says it to the point where ppl will expect me to every time. We did not let De Gois go. He was offered Buderus money from Knights when our salary cap money was gone. Sticky loved him and if he came off contract this year not last year then he's a shark for life. Damn Ben Ross' money lost us De Gois.

Umm... Morris wouldnt be my happiest of signings but my reaction isnt as bad as some have been. Really i would prefer Sullivan or trying Buster there but as far as hookers go there are not many our there so i dunno.

Whoever said Hughes has been in form i disagree with. Hughes was **** against Raiders and almost cost us the game with a penalty in front of the posts. He then does one good play all game but we win from it. Last game he was good for most but not great so i am happy to see him not dropped for a change but it doesnt make him good.

I disagree with you all actually, as a hooker Morris played he best footy at Knights and Parra, he is not a half's *******, but as a hooker I think he goes a lot better. Hughes will not be there next year. and I highly doubt TC will be either, only because his knee is giving him grief.

Unfortunately for Tony, that is a big part why the last 3-4 weeks he has been in & out of the top side. When he plays PL, he only trains 3 times a week and then a game, at not as high intensity, but when he plays with the NRL squad he has to train 5 times or so a week, and his knee blows up, unfortunately a reflection of his HORRIFFIC injury. To add to this he also has a good paying job, that is VERY flexible with his footy committments, and he does not want to jeopardise this part of his life, if his knee is not up to it, and considering Sharks NRL won't invest 100-120k per year to keep him, so he doesn't have to work his other job.

As the De Gois thing above, people should think about the real stories before judging here, De Gois and TC.

As far Morris goes, tell me which other hooker is NRL standard on the market? I know he is not De Gois, but he is better then Hughes, younger and faster. Seu Seu 70% game time and Morris rotation, is not such a bad thing. But I totally agree he is ****house in the halves.

Plus as mentioned on other posts, I doubt Seymour will be a Shark 2010, so that option is thin too.

Unfortuantely guys recruitment has a few things to it, money, availability, and attraction to the players concerned, and ATM we are not an attractive brand.
