I disagree. Kearney was signed as a fringe/depth player and went on to become a key player for a while. That's exceeding expectations in my book.

We chose to not re-sign him after his injury because Sticky had man-crushes on Stapo, Kelly and Gardner.

Looking back at team selections for 2009 FMD we had alot of different fullbacks that year, enough to make coach Morris blush

Kearney (only 1 game Rnd 1), Goodwin, Brown, Wright, Stapo, Simmo

I must have purged alot of that year from my brain cause I don't remember it being that dire in the No.1

Surprised Fergo wasn't given a go but then again he was proving to be a gun on the wing

Mate I’ve never watched that loss to the Dragons that knocked us out.

What a hollow feeling that was, finals weren’t live on TV then so I listened on the radio hoping I’d watch a good replay that night.

Didn’t go near it I was so gutted.
