Just got back from voting at the leagues club.
Dane Sorensen was standing out the front as you drive in handing out his how to vote card.

And a A4 piece of paper with Peter Gows recommendations for Dane Sorensen.

Quite a few people were there voting.

Anyone handing out anything else?

Referring to something I posted the other day. If you look at who has written the derogatory articles about the Sharks and our financial situation over the last 18 months, its been that man Barrett.

No implications being drawn.

Ahhhh... I suspect it might be a bit like how Danny Weidler also seems to know what goes on at Board level and how quick Ricky Stuart is to chip in his 2 cents worth.

Just convo's i have had with ppl in the last 48hrs who dont post on here

Mate anything from Holland's camp should be treated with disdain. I can't go into specifics but there's more than just the Conflict of Interest issue that was raised in the mainstream media today.

It should also be noted that Peter Gow is not endorsing Holland either. What does that tell you?

From today's Leader, a snippet from Brad Forrest:

Former Sharks president Peter Gow (for former Test star Dane Sorensen) was among those supporting candidates at the start of polling yesterday for the board of directors elections, outside Sharkies Leagues Club.

One incumbent director Greg Holland, however, was forced to conduct his campaign from a hospital bed - victim of a mystery virus which could sideline him all week.

Snowman didn't say anything about voting for Holland?

If I was voting I'd be voting for DI's ticket, but the democratic process is important as well. If snowman has his reasons for voting a certain way then fair enough.

Keeping an open mind...

To be fair, I had looked at the 12 candidates myself initially, and I came up with a ticket that was slightly different to the Board ticket (I won't call it the 'Chairmans Ticket' because it's NOT, it's a ticket endorsed by 8 members of the current incumbent Board).

Sorensen was in contention in my mix instead of Barnett, and I considered Downy for Ward.

The things that changed my mind were (in Sorensen's case) the fact that Docking is the better pick of the ex-footy players and you don't need any more than ONE of them. The Gow puppet factor also troubled me, and those fears have now been confirmed with Pete handing out HTV's for Sorensen. If Peter Gow had stood for the board himself he'd have had my vote. I won't vote for someone dangling on a string though!

I decided against Downy as I looked back through his political life and it's not exactly all roses. He never really achieved anything fantastic, and being connected to the Liberal party meant that detractors of the development could use his past as a weapon against us, if he was on the Board.

Holland was never going to get a vote from me, and while O'Driscoll is a nice enough fella, I had the unfortunate experience of sitting in front of him at an AGM where he set a new Guiness World Record for Dribbling.

So, as Snowman says, 'keeping an open mind' I looked at the field and made my choices based on logic and reasoning, and came up with the so-called 'Chairman's Ticket' before I knew who was actually going to be on that ticket.

Give Fitz a call if you have doubts, Snowman. Get all sides of the story.

Snowman didn't say anything about voting for Holland?

No, you're spot on, he didn't. I'm just putting my two bob's worth in, in case he's swaying that way!

;)

I'm not disputing for a moment the need for a democratic process and snowman's right to vote in any way he sees fit.

I'm just interested in what he thinks is the best Board and why.

This is a good point - if there is important info that people about to vote don't know - it would be crazy not to share it...

I just got back from voting. Dane was at the entry to the carpark handing out stuff (at least I assume it was him as it was dark).

There wasn't anythying there promoting DI's preferences so I was lucky I'd noted his ticket from Fitz's post above
