Gotta agree Weidler is a total f'wit - just the sight of him on TV makes me want to throw up - the guy is an abject embarrassment to everyone involved in the game - and how Channel 9 continue to trot him out evey so often is a travesty.

Yep Happy Birthday Gal 30 today , whilst I agree about the bonding session , his party was actually about 2 weeks ago

Some say the Telegraph hates us and now you're saying the SMH - does any media outlet like us ??

I dont think the Tele hates us. The SMH does and has run numerous gutter campaigns against us over the last few years - think Magnay. Roy Masters and Gould wield a lot of power in the SMH sports dept and niether like the sharks or think we should be in the comp. A lot of that is their support for the Dragons who stand to benefit most if there were no sharks in the comp.

Chris Barrett is the one who's against us for some reason. If you go through and have a look at Fairfax's coverage of the Sharks over the last two years, all of its football orientated coverage has been done by Greg Pritchard, Adrian Prozenko et al, and all of the negative stuff- and there's been plenty of it- has been from Barrett. The "monkeys running the Club" line was in his article IIRC.

In fact, his consistency with coming out with disparaging and morbid pieces on us has been remarkable. Its almost as if someone were feeding him negative tales to tell... I wonder who?

Hopefully that will be resolved if the Chairman's ticket gets past the post.

The last thing that any organisation needs is this sort of destabilising influence.

This is exactly why I am so anti politicians on Boards.

Seriously, you wouldn't trust any of them as far as you could throw them.

Weirdler is the worst "journalist" in Australia at the moment Fitz. Hands down. It's sickening how much he sucks up to the Khoder camp (Mundine, Sonny Bill etc) and Roosters train wrecks. I'm sure he doesn't even realise what a joke he is to the average punter.

You've got to be kidding. Danny Weidler the worst? Try Peter FitzSimons or that other bloke from the Woman's Day Phil Woffield.

Steve I know you're a bit 'out there' in some of your views, but I'm genuinely interested as to why you've left Surace and Douglas off your list?

Next to Irvine, Craig Douglas is the very reason we still have a club. Surace has been working very hard behind the scenes, something you'd be aware of if you'd been monitoring things over the past 2 years.

I can't tell u who to vote for, but I'd like to know your logic in selecting who you have, and more importantly, who you have not.

I will be backing the Chairman's ticket wholeheartedly. I have done my research and had selected those candidates before the Chairman had put forward his ticket. Can't recall if I made those selections evident here but I certainly did in the CSSC forum.
I can't fathom why anyone would be inclined to leave Craig Douglas of their list and equally why anyone would be selecting Peter O'Driscoll unless they were a personal aquaintence of his. Of which is an honorable but hardly valid reason when considering you are voting on people who will be in control of the livelihood of 100+(?) staff and their families and the recreational facitlties of thousands and that's not even taking into account the footy team and fans or the impending development!

In order of the ballot paper -

:Yes:peter Henry Kerr
:No:peter O'Driscoll
:No:Christopher John Downy
:Yes:Craig Allan Douglas
:Yes:Ricky Surace
:Yes:Keith Andrew Ward
:Yes:paul John Walker
:Yes:phillip Andrew Tiernan
:Yes:James Barnett
:No:Dane Sorensen
:No:Gregory Gordon Holland
:Yes:Jonathan Paul Docking

And for further clarity

 Peter O'Driscoll (I'm sure he's a lovely bloke but his incessant, incoherent and off the mark ramblings at AGM's don't show him to possess the knowledge neccessary at this point in the Club's life.
 Christopher John Downy (Politician)
 Dane Sorensen (Just doesn't make the cut for mine. Runs a close 9th.
 Gregory Gordon Holland (Bad news. The word 'sieve' comes to mind. 'Opportunist' would be another. Neither are qualities needed on any Board. Let alone one with the work ahead of them our Board has.

Running with the Chairman's ticket is the only way to vote IMO.

We need unity and stability in what will be the defining years of the club we all love so much.

If you agree, please encourage those family and friends to vote with the presidents ticket.

I'm told the Chairman's "How To Vote" slips will be printed out and offered to people when they come in to cast their vote.

Folks, also remember that whilst the 'rules' governing when you can vote seem restrictive and exclusive to locals, these very rules were something that kept the 'Old Brigade' in power for so long. The rules were written so that the voting hours favoured the retired locals who (unsurprisingly) were all in the same demographic as most of the board.

These voting rules WILL be reviewed and changed before the next election, but sadly we're stuck with this system for THIS current election.

Make no mistake, the rules as they stand favour one particular candidate who is NOT on Irvine's endorsed list.

If you support Irvine, counter this by ensuring that YOU personally move mountains to get to the club and vote, even if it's a right royal pain in the arse to do so.

If Irvine is lumped with one or more directors who are NOT going to be 100% loyal to the board and rock solid in their ethics and purity of intent, we're in for more leaks, disruption and sniping for the next two years.

NOT something our club needs over the next 18-36 months.

GET THERE and vote as per the ticket. It's vital.
