Chances of Gus coming to the Sharks - 1,000,000 to one.

And no, I am not taking the bet, I'm just trying to point out how ridiculous this whole talk is.

There is no way he is coming here, despite it being close to home and his son playing for us.

I just think he will not go to anyone else except for the Roosters.

Gus helped them up when they were down and now neither the football side or the board side want anything to do with him.
We've got some money about to come in and strong footy team so i don't think we need his clout like they did.

With a Sydney suburb teams relocation imminent it would be great to have a very public NRL figure associated with the club.

Most of the clubs have someone, we’ve got no one (matty used to be but he’s back on the knights)

Unless we employed him and then found out he wanted to move us lol

**** no to Gus. We need a CEO not a talking head pulling the strings on JMo. Gus might have a wealth of knowledge but we've soundly been much better than Penrith and remain to be.

Relocation is not "imminent" stop jumping at shadows. If I'm wrong, Gus won't help ****. The only thing that'd save us would be a strong financial position with strong ties to our current location, something achieved by a sharp CEO. Paying big dollars for a HoF is ridiculous, there is nothing wrong with our football department, it produces better results than Penrith's on no doubt a smaller budget.

Wait a year or two and bring Flanno back as HoF if we need one.

With the amount of times I've seen the word 'poach' used in newspaper articles about what the Sharks plan to do with Gus, I'm surprised Egg isn't suffering from a nervous disorder.

There is no way Gus will be coming to he club. Just can’t see it happening ever. He’s in a very committed relationship with the pennies

Can't see it happening either. Maybe use us to make the Panthers panic or to bump his price with the Roosters.

The fact that he's wanted by our club might put us in his good books though and it can't hurt having another ally.

Why would the Roosters want him? They're elbow deep into a successful era, and are kissed on the bum by the NRL

Gus picks his battles carefully and is all about saving face. The only reason he would leave pennies for Sharks would be a strategic decision for himself but there's no way it was ever on the cards for him coming here. Doesn't suit the narrative as it stands.

Regardless he will get out before the 10 yr plan becomes a 15 yr and say he achieved what he wanted but will implement some additional 'restructuring' prior to that

I honestly thought the Gus to Sharks thing was a troll

Wouldn't knock him back though for the sake of him involving himself with Coach 2 wins 1 Loss Morris. Gus prefers an entertaining and attacking style from his teams anyway.

What could Gus possibly do to us that is any worse than the self inflicted **** we have done to ourselves at this club for over a decade. he doesn't hate us, he has family involved with the club and as fans, lives in the area so has a degree of understanding of the community's link to the Sharks and gives the Sharks credit more than any other commentators or journo's. He has a quiet respect for us and sees some semblance to his beloved panthers. him getting sent off from shark park happened along time ago haha

now ok we finally secured some last minute short termish sponsors, and
yea awaiting some development money is nice but it doesn't automatically take us to the next level as a club

football side of the club is going well, it's the office and boardroom that needs help. always has
