And if people really want something to **** can Chad about, they should be looking at his general kicking game. His inability to kick it more than 30 metres did more to give the Dragons a chance than that field goal attempt.

Where did you dream this up mate? He put in several 50m+ kicks, including a 40/20 attempt that didn’t find the touch line but caught the Dragons close to their line.

If anything it was his lack of kicking that hurt them. He was clearly busted; O’Sullivan taking over the primary kicking duties was a step down.

Mmm, your double dipping there mate. You can't say the next 10 mins is irrelevant then say the warriors don't definitely win. And your can't ignore the errors from the Warriors in that last ten minute period, or the whole of extra time where momentum was reset.

Happy to agree to disagree.
I still think that, that moment was pivotal to the Dragons come back and that Chads farcical FG option turned momentum around and allowed the Dragons back in the game.
The rest in now history.

I did say it was a **** play. I just don't believe one play loses a game, Chad or not. There were heaps of opportunities for the team to not be ****. Then they were. Before and after that weird decision.

If it helps everyone... Chad thinking they were only 6 ahead... Unforgivable at that stage of the game. It gave them a chance to get back in it, which they took.

I thought a teams kicking game doesn’t change the momentum of games ? Or was that Bort that said that

The funny thing here is that people are bagging a guy for taking a field goal attempt with 5 to go in a game that went to GP. It was a **** decision at the time, but in hindsight if he had actually kicked it and then things play out the same way it would have won the match.

In hindsight if we won all our games we would be undefeated. We arent.

He didnt kick the field goal. He lost them the game.

I did actually say that Chad had a reasonable game but my point is that is was a very poor option which swung momentum and for the risk/ benefit it wasn’t worth taking.

Do you honestly believe that a Storm or Panthers team take that option with 6 mins to go, leading by 8 for 1 point which really, in the scheme of things doesn’t change the way the opposition has to play?

He had a few kicks I noticed that landed pretty short and gave up good field position. Might have been pressure... dunno. Interesting stats though, he doesn't usually get that kind of distance. Wind assisted?

Agree re the field goal but there was also a horrible call against the warriors in one of the last sets .

Bird was ruled to to tap on a pass backwards but in reality he clearly tapped it , or just lost it forward.

Diabolical call …

Dumbass drop goal attempt aside decent effort from the lad

Confirmation of grade 3 AC joint injury for Chad Townsend. Such resilience to play 78mins with completely torn AC ligaments. Quite a wide range of recovery timelines, with worst case: 4-6 weeks. But do see some players: 2-3 week return w pain killing injections

Have had myself and struggled to have use of that arm for remainder of game

I did say I thought he played reasonably well given the early injury (apart from the FG option).
The Warriors are not having much luck with their halves.
Hopefully we bounce back with a win next week against the Warriors thou!

Only a grade 3? Typical...

Oh, and was that a sneaky #humblebrag with that story of your experience? 😏

You'd think he'd be no chance to play this week but you never know. If he misses as many games as they suggest he's not going to get that many games for him is he.

We are once again relying on Chad to get us into the 8. Would be handy if Warriors can beat Raiders and Titans.

Titans are the concern, I think. Our F/A is marginally better but we'll get pumped by Storm if they play anything remotely resembling their full strength team.

Really need Newcastle to beat them this week otherwise I think we're toast.
