He was impressive

Far less frantic and frustrated too

Will do his confidence the world of good - other than goal kicking he was on point

Still had a run or two on the 4th last didn't make much sense, but very solid outing otherwise. I'm glad this kid doesn't look to be headed down the Flanno Jnr route

Agreed.

I was really impressed with BT’s overall game on Thursday.

Not a great night with the boot for whatever reason but we know he is a much better goal kicker than that.

I don't mind his runs near the line, they look pretty dangerous and keep the defense on it's toes. If he doesn't run it now and then it's one less thing for the defense to worry about with him and they can just rush him and try to wack him making a pass or kick

Moylan and Hynes run it on the 4th as well in the abscense of other options or if they see half a chance

There is a solid footy player in there, well done to tonight. I think he is a class down from Moylan, but he held his own & then some tonight.

Good game. For all the discussion and different opinions around how he has been used throughout the season, it's looking like the method Fitz chose is working. Arriving at the business end we've got a bloke who has enough first-grade experiences (not a lot across the full 80 but first-grade experiences nonetheless) to not be overawed if and when he's called on to do a job. Showed tonight is ready and capable when needed.

He’s a first grade half without question. We’re pretty bloody lucky to have him as our second choice when you look at teams like Newcastle trodding out their first choices.

A try and a try assist were fantastic but his defence was ****ing outstanding last night, particularly on the goal line.

His D has been pretty good to exceptional in most if not all of his NRL games.

Great to see his attack firing up now as well. big difference when given 80 mins instead of the cameos previously

I have to give Trindall a massive wrap. He has come a long way. It was only a few months ago, it looked like his career could be over. Trindall has done the hard work off the field, worked on his game, his now playing some good footy.

I think he stopped trying to impress all the time and overplay his hand. It looks like he now sticks to playing simple and everything falls into place.

A playmaker has to quickly analyse the situation and make a decision. Throughout 80 minutes a playmaker will have a lot to analyse and a lot of decisions to make. That is hard enough to do without having to adapt to the pace and intensity of first grade at the same time. So maybe the short stints and varied roles let Trindall slowly gain lots of different first grade experiences that would be obviously easier to break down and digest than an entire 80 minutes would be. I think he is developing nicely and Fitz knows exactly what he is doing.

80 mins also means he doesn’t put undue pressure on himself and gives him more confidence and time to get into the game, whereas, in the 5-10 min cameos at the back end, he probably put more pressure on himself to come up with a magic play, and therefore over did his hand.

I agree and I'll say a playmaker's role is to come up with something under pressure. The 5 to 10 minute cameos might have taught him to deal with the pressure in small blocks. You can play 80 minutes never knowing when you'll be called upon to provide that moment, kind of like sitting on the bench never quite knowing when you'll get thrown in and into what situation. But at least you've only got to worry about that small period of the game.

I think putting pressure on him or putting him in pressure moments is exactly what they were after. Don't throw him in the fire for a full 80 just yet but singe his toes for 10 or 15 minutes to harden him up and get him ready.
