He has the potential definitely, maybe starting McInnes at 9 and Brailey off the bench is the ideal way to start next year. I agree, he really needs to back himself when he takes his scoots, he really has a good eye but stops himself.

Wants to link up to a runner after he beats the markers but they are rarely there.
Cam Smith didn't like running into the line either, he'd get out and then pass on too.

Said before by Hynes and McInnes could work better with it

The problem is the link runner is usually Tolman, someone like Talakai, Rudolf or BHU would be ideal as they would make more metres. Not discrediting Tolman though.

Thoughts on his game yesterday? Both NRL and Fox stats had him at 0 runs 0 metres.

Yeah I don’t know anymore with him, he does need better forwards and support play though.

I’ve been a big fan of Brailey and really not that keen to give up on him just yet, but after yesterday’s whole team performance and the direction the game is moving I wouldn’t mind starting with this pack next year pending signatures. Very solid in defence (Rudolf to improve) and a lot more attacking prowess. Brailey can still be on the bench to keep improving his game, if an injury occurs McInnes can go to lock with Watson able to play anywhere, otherwise bring him on with 20 to go fresh to just run it a lot. Just an idea anyways but McInnes as our hooker is just starting to sound more appealing IMO

8. Finucane
9. McInnes
10. Rudolf
13. Watson

I wouldn’t be for McInnes at 9 before but now definitely. Replace Watson with Tolman at 13 and it would be a very good pack.

Don’t know what’s up with Brailey, said it beforehand he’s a hard one to get a read on - but one thing for sure he needs a rocket up his ass, seems like no one in the team is challenging each other they are all just happy to do as it comes

Yeah when McInnes was signed I was strictly for him to be lock, but now if Fitz starts with McInnes I won’t be upset.

Maybe the competition of McInnes is the rocket Brailey needs to go forward with his game.

I've always liked Brailey, but thinking on it I don't see him getting a start anywhere else.

Thats pretty much a normal game for him. Doesn't like getting tackled. Could play in a dinner suit.

Someone needs to tell him we need him almost more then we need our halves and fullback.

Comes across as way too laidback

Zero chance Fitz will tolerate the dinner suit behaviour. If we get a lock, maybe Finucane then I really see McInnes at hooker and Brailey off the bench.

The consensus was that Brailey offers more attack than McInness but he’s not doing much in attack.

I'm not off Brailey yet but I'll be massively disappointed if we end up with Cam at 9 for years to come. If its not Brailey, go all out to sign a gun hooker. Brandon Smith would be the target.

I reckon he’s been told by coach not to get tackled. He’s our only option at hooker. He gets stuck in in defence.

Poor roster management to not have a single backup for hooker. I don’t consider Patterson an NRL standard replacement.

You normally say a player plays in a dinner suit if he's afraid of contact. Blayke tackles props around the knees – I don't think it's a fair comment.

It makes sense for him to dish the ball on if the gap has closed, that way he's ready for the play the ball and our other players can be where they're supposed to be.

He's out of form, that's all. Doesn't help that none of our forwards are bending the line anymore.

If Chambers is back this week we might see Tracey on the bench and give Brailey a short spell. Maybe just playing less minutes will benefit his game.

How many teams have 80 min hookers these days? Not as many as they used to be.

It's tough playing at hooker when your team is getting dominated in the forwards like we were.

I do think our plan next year should be start McInnes, 20 minutes and then move him to lock and then bring on Brailey, for him to play the rest of the game. He will then be able to run more in attack with shorter minutes.

8. Finucance (Or another Tier 1 Prop)
9. McInnes
10. Tolman (or a new prop)
11. Wilton
12. Graham
13. Toby

14. Williams
15. BHU/ Royce Hunt
16. Talakai
17. Nikora/Tracey/ Watson (if we signed him)

we showed our hand stupidly by putting trindall at hooker when brailey went off for a HIA

Out of form plus attacks more like Cam Smith - gets out to beat markers then looks for a runner rather than try and fight through himself.
Just rarely have a runner switched on enough / fast enough to react to be there with him

How are you going to bring on Brailey if you dont put him on your bench?
