If our million dollar superstar kiwi international halfback isn't gunna bother to run Brailey probs aint gunna be in the mood and is thinking what is the point cause he never has anyone shadow him in support to help him out, he just pinches a few metres and then hits a brick wall of defense

maybe it was the gameplan to work around the raiders with wide passes rather than through the guts but Shaun 'inside ball to Tolman' Johnson forgot how to understand Australian

Maybe if he puts on another 10+kg of leg muscle he will be more interested on trying to force his way through

It's the same when anyone makes a half break, it's woeful. Shows a clear ****ty attitude for mine.

Can't believe it hasn't been addressed.

If Chambers is back this week we might see Tracey on the bench and give Brailey a short spell. Maybe just playing less minutes will benefit his game.

How many teams have 80 min hookers these days? Not as many as they used to be.

Seeing more hookers slot into lock for periods of the game. Not sure if that's a 'rest' though

Should take up beach sprinting. That's what all the best running players seem to have on the resume

Thought he was much better yesterday, ran more, engaged the line more.

Just needs to do that every game, hopefully Fitz and help in defence from McInnes and Finucane next year plus maybe less minutes rotating with McInnes will see that.

Yeah I thought he was a lot better. Im still convinced having McInnes to not only challenge him, but allow him to have a rest on the bench next year might be what unlocks Brailey’s potential. I really like the potential of what Brailey at 9 with McInnes at 13, occasionally covering at 9 can bring to the team, providing we get the halves combination right.

I really want it to work with Blayke, I think the talent is there.

I think a lot of people forget how young Brailey is. A better forward pack will make the world of difference for him in attack.

He has also makes a hell of a lot of tackles each game and some help in defence would definitely be good for him.

Yep agree 100%. Also playing 80 mins in most games.

Especially as he is first point of contact a lot, obviously you run at the bloke half the size of the rest of the middle.

His 40/20 attempt didn't come off but would have been an fantastic play if it had, that's the risk with plays like that. He obviously backed himself to have a chance of getting it.

He’s good - next year he will have a better forward pack more help in defence and leaders around him

Yep look forward to him making a good jump up. McInnes in particular will help solidify our middle a lot in D and that will radiate outwards to improve the whole line.

I know many like to bag Woods but him and Tolman actually do a decent job in the middle (bar the odd lateral meltdown from Woods or brainsnap), both are 94%+ for the season, same as Dale.

I've always maintained a big issue for us was lacking that real notable middle D guy who makes 40+ no worries (and often more) like a lot of teams have.
McInnes is that guy and with his effectiveness and work rate will make a huge difference for us.

Dale will add more in other areas than defence, but certainly won't let us down in D either.

woods is a good front on defender but terrible laterally, thats why he is **** on

our middle next year will be 900% better

Agree
In the middle you do a lot of front on though, yes we have been hurt a number of times by Woods making lateral misses (some by quite a bit), but in the middle it is less pronounced than if he played wider (he'd be unplayable on an edge).

If Woods could move laterally well and play the ball quicker (and less milk) we'd be in a bidding war to retain him. Not every forward is a rep forward, lacking a bit laterally is a pretty common issue for the big boys, Woods does seem to miss by a mile on occasion though where I'd expect The Fin to at least have a crack.

From a defensive standpoint McInnes will make a huge improvement, I think Finucanes impact will be less obvious (as it still makes sense to try run at Brailey not the prop) but the extra efforts he makes should hopefully see less of the dumb **** ups Woods gives us.

I really hope we keep Tolman for next year. Another good defender in case of injuries or to come from the bench would be very handy
