This is exactly the mentality I am talking about. You may be confusing criminal law with the ASADA investigation. What is the burden of proof they operate under? I would suggest it's not beyond reasonable doubt and leans more towards the balance of probabilities. And I don't think they had powerade in those syringes.

The last bit is the problem.

Yes there were 2 substances in question
Players were given something
But not every player would be taking one or both substance. One may have had substance a the other substance b. asada need to determine who had what. Without an admission thats gunnabe hard to determine.

The Gillard Government may have been opportunistic in using a breaking story to gain some political mileage but to try to present that they were complicit in a conspiracy is as ludicrous a suggestion as Tony Abbott somehow being involved in the shooting down of MH17 so that he could gain some political cred on the international stage.

Politicians are like that - they seize media opportunity so they can spin political rhetoric. No political party or side of politics has a patent on that.

I didn't realise that the flaws were specific to the Essendon case - seemingly it's no secret that the ASADA investigation wasn't greatly handled and I assumed that to be the case with us as well.
People write all sorts of things in newspapers. It wasn't handled well, blah blab. It means nothing. The only group to have tested flaws are Essendon. Unless we test it as a club their investigation was exemplary.

Anyways - parallels with Lance are mentioned, and that the circumstantial evidence pertaining to substances being around him were enough to see him go down, and yet with us the same (alleged) evidence exists re the existence of curtain substances and yet there is no evidence to say who got what and when....the law tends to favour a not guilty outcome when the potential for someone innocent getting convicted exists...ASADA really needs our guys to provide this assistance to tie some loose ends - our legal advice surely would be to continue to say nothing and let them try and prove it?
We have no idea who has what evidence. I don't anyway.

From a club perspective, which is the only one I care about, I hope they come clean and we can move on ASAP. If I was a player! They may as well make them prove it because I think they are going to get penalised to the fullest regardless. They won't have the stomach to shop their mates and they will be sitting with Sandor Earl facing four years.

I know politicians cam be stupid at times but I'm not really sure that pissing of the majority of Australians by saying that the entire sporting landscape was rife with illegal and banned drug users,
as well as being linked to some underworld criminal organizations, is a good example of being "opportunistic", when the "evidence" has been flimsy at best.

Then again maybe it is the perfect example of how out of touch they really all are.

We need a scientist with a time machine so we can go back and shoot the **** as he walks through the gates.

Get him to whistle blow on the sea eagles while we hold him captive.

Seriously though, who had heard of stephen dank before this story broke last year? Not me

All good mate. But if you put up outrageous statements like you did then you are going to cop some flak. And to be honest that wasn't nothing compared to some of the **** I've said in here over the years. And you are right, I'm in lock down when the sun goes down, haha.

Mate I just think the way this has been handle by asada is completely wrong
I mean who builds a investigative case against someone then goes in completely empty handed ? A bumbling government agency that's who
Anyway enough said of that
I used to work at Maitland spent a bit of time on train unfortunately hence my original maito comment
