Does anyone else think that giving Val a $25k fine and 1 game for pretending to have cocaine is a little excessive when you consider Reece Walsh got a $5k fine and 2 games for having actual cocaine?

I think Val's is similar to what Munster and Cheese from memory? Maybe Walsh is the odd one out?

I guess from a ‘bringing the game into disrepute’ perspective the NRL may view showing it off in one way and being caught in another and somehow end up where they do.

Proven coke is more suspension, actively showing it off is more fine?

Every chance there is no thought process though

I've missed the story with val. Is anyone actually buying that it's not coke?

If it was actual coke, they’ve done well to shift the focus.

Great PR work by the NRL and club

AFL has a 3 strike policy for memory so the public don’t even know for 1st and 2nd offence.

It’s a bit harder to hide when you post it social media though I guess! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Most people would likely expect that footy players party hard, and if it's just cocaine then they're doing pretty well

Yep, even society as a whole. We're slowly moving away from pretending its such a taboo/horrible thing.
