Yep - and since the vast majority of set restarts happen on tackles 0 and 1 the completion stats are massively inflated for the whole league.

Sharks completed 75% against the Eels (28/37) but they received 2 set restarts and 8 penalties. Their actual completions were 18/27 - which is 66% - and that doesn’t take in to account any regular “six more” calls (pass knocked down, attempted strip, etc.).

The other thing is that if you run it on the last tackle and get caught and hand it over - that’s a completed set. If you run it on the last, get caught and throw a wild pass knowing it is the last - which is dropped - that is an incomplete set.

I think a competed set should be “you get the ball, and you either score, force a dropout, force a mistake, kick the ball after tackle 0, or attempt to run the ball on the last tackle”. There is no stat for that.
I guess it's inflated, but so long as it's compared to that consistent number each round, and you understand how it's reached... This year's rules would skew the numbers again too, with less restarts... Tough to tell if it's meaningless or not. I think errors is probably more important, as that at least is in your control rather than how many restarts the other teen gives away

Could score a 14 if Talakai starts for Wilton.
But some evidence Fitz likes a big bench so Hunt or Williams could just come into 17 instead.
I’m thinking Jets
yeah going to need the big units this week

dragons look dangerous and we definitely need to aim up this week.
pressure up on the opposition, they can fold under pressure
and cut out any crappy errors

The problem if Teig is out - and if Talakai takes that spot - who is the edge back row cover on the bench ?

And - we don’t have those 2 guys to shuffle out if we get an injury or HIA out side ?

Interesting selection ..

I really hope Williams is available. Otherwise I wouldn't be surprised if Trindall gets a bench spot.

good thing our coach knew nothing about our stats in the pressor!

Depending on Ronaldos HIA situation there is a very real chance he isn't eligible to play this game.

Obviously you just straight swap him for Ikuvalu but it would be a shame after a strong first half

Ronaldo just copped a cut above the eye? or it was worse than that?

Long-time reader, first-time poster. I loathe the Saints with an intense passion and I am honestly more pumped about Thursday night than probably any game this year. Saints look like they will be missing Andrew McCullough with Moses Mbye possibly playing hooker/dummy half. He will provide a good target for our big men. Defensively, it is a downgrade for them. George Burgess will no doubt be stood down and be a distraction as well, which may galvanise them. Not sure how the line up in terms of sides, but I would love to see Ramien clash with big Moses Suli, as I think Jesse will be a handful for him with his speed and footwork. I will certainly be driving down to Win Stadium to hurl as much abuse at the Saints and their brain-dead fans as humanly possible.

Welcome mate, you’ll get your wish, Jesse & Suli will be on the same side, I’m sure McInnes will be looking for a big game & im sure their fans will let him know he’s no longer one of their own

Welcome! You are amongst friends with the saints hatred. This is the most unlikeable their side has ever been too I think. Hope we flog them but I'll take the 2 points however we can get them

Knee clean out, may well make the 24 for this weekends game

Didn’t return at halftime which indicates he failed a HIA or was pulled up by independent doctor, assuming with the timing it’s the HIA though. Think commentators mentioned he failed HIA at halftime too

So with no Graham or Wilton and with Talakai and Nikora starting, who’s next in line for backrowers if we want to have one on the bench in Talakai’s spot?

Williams still to come back but what about Colquhoun? He looked pretty good in the trial

Danger game, Dragons have been pretty intense and they lift against us.

Need to come out firing as their forwards drop off pretty quick.

Rumoured to be fit to return
Expect to see him named on the bench now that Talakai will be covering Wilton in the backrow.

Colquhoun is a middle forward.

Williams, Rudolf and Talakai were all predominantly edge players in Cup. Any of those 3 can handle playing there, but none of them have the motor to play 80.

Likely how Jack gets eased back in, rotate for Talakai for a stint on the edge.

Tolman, Fifita, McIness share middle with Finucane, Rudolf and BHU

I see Williams as more of a middle forward these days, I feel he does his best work there, thats where I’d rather see him. I’m not against using him on the edge if needed but I just feel he helps us more as a middle.
