I could cop the Graham on Hoffman call. I didn't agree, but it was 50/50. I was more upset with the string of calls that followed in the next 10 minutes. That changed the game.

The 6-to-go call on a guy tackling attempting a legs tackle was just awful.

in retrospect a penalty is acceptable and suffice for the Graham call...but that should be it. no referral, that's just footy. but hey, if they wanna make it a game of touch footy to benefit the so called 'razzle dazzle' types then whatever...BORING!

I would have been okay with the Graham hit being a penalty if they called it straight away.

The fact the muppet had already put the whistle in his mouth, with his arm pointing at the spot, and then after the scum disallowed the try the refs fully injected themselves in the game, is what I can't cop.

That was a MASSIVE turning point. The refs were good up until that point, letting the arm wrestle happen.

According to the match report i read on Saturday, Jez was fine to protect himself but he had a closed fist which creates the appearance that he was out to cause harm.. I think its *****ing stupid, you had a guy about to belly flop on you weighing 110kg, you have the right to protect yourself, surely they player could have just strolled over, put a hand on him and he is held, he came in for a big shot, got punished, he deserves it!!

plus, in the split second between Jez seeing the guy and putting his arm up there is no way he could've had time to think "oh ****, better defend myself, oh wait, closed fist, that's no good, i'll get in trouble, better just open my hand there *BOOM*...ah ****, i got drilled"

Any players is going to protect themselves in that situation, i remember back in the day chasing a ball down, sliding to get it and a giant from the other team landed on me, broke 3 ribs.. I didnt have time to assess the situation, if i did, i would have thrown up my fist to square it up!

Geez that Bonco forward has a glass jaw, it was lights out before hit hit the ground. Although it was probably the best right hook ive seen since Davo's hit on Jason Stevens in the late 90's.

I can deal with some dud calls and the occasional inconsistancy but I cannot deal with the rediculious intepretations (Bill Harrigon) and the way Refs are "managing" games instead of just ref them how they see it.

The ref needs to ignore the scoreboard, penalty count and the home crowd. Makes me sick how rigged NRL is getting. I cannot think of another sport influenced so greatly by the refs and where consistantly they appear in game reports.

i tell ya who would be a good referees boss....Gus. I hate the **** but he usually has a common sense views when it comes to the officiating of the game. He'd never take the job though because the refs cop too much criticism and there's no ****ing way he'd be handle it

lol and a mass walk out would take place, he wouldn't take the job anyway I remember when he was asked on the roast or something and he said absolute not!

The thing is then he wouldn't be able to whine either.

In the daily Telegraph, Phil rothfield is having a go at the refs and how they have gone down hill on some of the calls this year in alot of games. I do think this as well. The refs need to read that book again and understand and read it again, so that it is firm in their heads! They are to know it off by heart

Not exactly. Gus still likes the old school way of footy. not this **** we are seeing now. I hate the prick and the way he rambles, but he has good vision of the how the game should be.

I think based on current rules and protection of a player the penalty is fair, based on common sense and all that, it should never have been a penalty, he was put on report because the player was down and out. Not so much because of the hit, but the same happens any time a player is penalised and the other guy is taken off

Did anyone hear during the commentry they asked him about Gordon and why he didnt release him, they rambled on about it for a bit and when they asked to answer, he replied 'sorry, i was watching football'... gotta give him credit for that!!!! I cant beleive CH9 demanded him to comnentate the Panthers game.. If you listen closely, he tells everyone their weaknesses.. Surely every coach is listening rubbing their hands together, no wonder they are running so bad...

you'd death ride any suggestion of Gus to do anything. We all hate the chimney sweeper but he knows his ****.

Gus has a straight up common sense view of the game and interpretations of the rules. He's always the guy ragging out refs for awarding rubbish tries and disallowing obvious tries, for awarding **** penalties and basically just being a detriment to the league. If Gus was every ref and touchie in every game, less **** calls would be made. Do you disagree with that? or are you just trying to disagree on everything because that's the kind of idiot you are?

Gus rarely ever talks sense about any topic. He says his opinion in a passionate way and idiots lap it up. People love how someone says something, not what they say.

Whenever he says 'my rule book' i grown and thank **** he doesnt get his way.

i don't give a **** how Gus says anything, i hate the ****'s voice. he does make numerous good points such as not crucifying guys over complete accidents, not awarding tries where the player barely even grazes a finger over the ball as it touches the blade of grass just inside the dead ball line, not agonising over every single frame for half an hour before reaching the wrong decision anyway. those sort of ideas i can agree with. you can't?

Yeah but under prussure you dont want to make a mess of it and hand it over, you gotta secure the ball.. Wallace came in to put a cheap shot, he copped a cheap shot in return.

Agree, Gus is a goose on most things but on the rules I usually agree with him.
