i thought ronaldo doesnt miss penalties

Oh yes he does. The 2008 champs league final. Missed his pen. in the shootout.
There were some that suggested that was karma for being such an egotistical twat.
Then the universe, karma, God, divine justice or something like that saw what a monumental f!!k up it would be to allow John Terry to kick the winning goal in a European final and quickly re-balanced the scales because....well, because he's a complete c@nt. :)

I don't follow soccer too closely, is he really as arrogant as that?

Gooooone.

A draw is probably a decent effort for us overall. We're just not that good despite many getting a bit carried away.

blame that on the manager, how mclaren and luongo didnt get games is ****ing beyond me

This is the same manager who won the UEFA Cup with Feyenoord in 2002 and then managed the Netherlands from 2008 until June 2012 and guided the country to the 2010 FIFA World Cup final, which only lost 1-0 to Spain. Pretty good credentials for a manager.

I'm more bewildered as to why he didn't bring Cahill on against Denmark rather than McLaren and Luongo.

From what I have read the coach didn't really rate us on the forward press so wanted to play to 'our strengths' and adopt a conservative counter attacking game (cause that worked so well in past campaigns right...) that absorbs pressure. Problem is you still need to slot goals and get wins, old man Cahill, Luongo, Mclaren ect were probably our best chance at that but he sends on Juric, that young bloke Azzazi ect and starts ****ing Robbie Cruze who's only good for a 3rd division german club

I won't questions his credentials but I will question his reasoning and decisions in the second half of games.

End of the day we still created plenty of chances (despite the Euro style the coach wanted) but our finishing was below A League levels of bad - been problem with Socceroos for a very long time and just some how developing a world class striker and sticking him in the team won't be enough. We need all our forward players to develop quality shooting and first touch skills and sometimes be willing to take the selfish option instead of always looking for the pass.

So are we cheering for England now?
I know I wont be, always laughing at us & against us as far as Im aware haha! I've got money on Belgium to win the tournament & Lukaku as GB. Belgium are close to favourites, if not they are major outsiders to win.

This has been a stand out problem for us as far back as I remember. I think the game is more aerial here than in Europe. Not sure whether it's because of the cow paddocks we grow up playing on but we seem to prefer the ball travelling above the ground than on it. This means we always have to trap and then pass. Slows down the interchange.

really, you are wondering why cahill, who has only played 30 minutes for millwall since january wasnt selected?

lungo played in the same league, started 38 games and had his best return

jamie mclaren has scored goals for fun but cahill is questioned? nah, this is why you lost

cahill is **** and was only there for sentimental purposes

mclaren was in better form than juric as well

this coach may have had decent credentials 8 years ago with a team that has arjen robben and robin van persie, but he had **** all when it came to managing a minow

Well, they’re lined up to play either Portugal or Spain in the next round if results go as they’re expected. I don’t think they can beat either of them unless Russian gangsters get involved and rig the game.
Well mate it seems your soccer knowledge is on par with your league knowledge :)
