It was being discussed with Sydney FC assistant coach Phil Moss on BSB this morning. Unfortunately in most of the European and South American countries, they see it as part of the game and is widely accepted.
Like CM, I love my football too but this is easily the worst part of it.
I mean what are they trying to do? Get a freekick? Get a spot kick? Get someone sent off? With all the TV cameras around these days, you'd have to think officials would be on to it.

I listened to Craig Foster talking about diving on the radio about 5 years ago and the bold bit is exactly what he said.
He basically called Australians uneducated bogans for not understanding this.
This is why I think the man is a **** stick.

I was talking with some friends the other day about this as well. Graeme Souness (liverpool legend :sick ) and an evil bastard on the field was trying to explain this many years ago after a Champions League tie where one of the British players had been sent off. He stressed that for some of footballing nations, playacting like that was completely acceptable and in fact, it was 'good play' if you could create an advantage for your side by staging for a free kick, penalty, red card for an opponent etc.
They simply don't see the issue with it. It's 'good play' to help your team win.
Mind you, Souey was the sort of character, who if Neymar had been rolling around like that in front of him, would have kicked him square in the nads, before sneering in that Scottish brogue - "You might as well have something real to complain about."

Jesus Christ, England better win the whole thing now considering the way they’ve been carrying on over there, for their sakes. If they don’t they might not live it down for a long time. They’ll never get a better chance considering they could Stephen Bradbury they’re way to the cup with Germany, Spain, Brazil, Argentina all having shockingly bad tournaments. Not saying they haven’t deserved their wins, they’ve been deadly from set pieces and that’s all they’ve needed, but they’ve had somewhat of a light run so far. I think they’ll edge out a very good Croatia to get into the final, can they beat France or Belgium though? I dunno yet.
Plenty of decent beer guts amongst their fans. Not scared to put them on display either. What do they say, balcony over the entertainment area?

The passing games and way they setup in attack from both England and Belgium is sublime not to mention their finishing - what a final it would be, I could see both teams putting goals on each other despite both teams being stingy when it comes to conceding goals
