For sure, but if he was good enough to carry them it would become part of his role.
If you're not forcing the ball in his hands when the game is on the line, and him delivering, then he's a tier below the others IMO.

Maybe Ponga down a level too due to inconsistency at other times, Edwards consistency is very high level. On the Jaz list I think Edwards goes up to B, I'd probably bump Trell up, Pap maybe down if you want to factor durability.

Here's an interesting question. If you swapped him and Ponga who would be better off?
They contribute in different ways so I can find a way to argue for either, or neither. Obviously can't truly know what the correct answer is as we have seen Ponga perform in good teams (Qld) but never how Edwards goes for a struggler.

Yeah a lot of ones I see would have rather kept Hynes too
Yeah, maybe... though I don't think you want too many cooks in the kitchen. I think there's plenty of examples of players asked to play a role rather than to the full suite of their talents. Take Manu (up until the last fortnight) or say Brailey as examples. Even Jurbo... JT... I'm sure you could find plenty.

You could argue that Ponga's form is down because he's too much the attacking focus. He's been much easier to target and feels a lot more predicatable in recent times as a result.
That's half an answer to your question, too.

Manu is an interesting one, he should be playing spine somewhere and making the money to suit.
Being a centre for a good team instead and filling into spine when they are desperate you could call loyalty or something but seems like he's maybe a bit worried to put his hand up the be 'the guy' for someone.

With Brailey out Ponga has been working with an otherwise **** spine. Like Edwards doesn't have proven ability to carry, Ponga doesn't have proven ability to be consistent for a competitive side. It's all very tricky talking about how would this guy go here or there. Sometimes you see someone find another level, sometimes they regress.

Manu's making mulah, no doubt.
He's 26 now... Maybe it's his time to transition into the halves. I'd be all for it, especially for the rest of this season.
Because I got him ages ago in SC and captained him this week

For sure, reportedly low 700s so still good scratch, but he could get another 200-250k to go be a spine player at a weaker club.
Luckily for Roosters he's one of the few players who (so far) haven't chased that.

I thought he was a couple years older than that tbh. He has plenty of time to really make a lasting legacy if he can get into spine somewhere (and keep performance up).

If Keary was to drop out and he moved into 6 for Roosters that'd be great outcome for him I think.

i said this a couple of years ago and got bagged for it. But manu has the potential to be one of if not the best player in the NRL. I still stand by that. Especially if he was to transition into the fullback role or 5/8 (with the right 7 though).

Manu might be the Ciraldo of players. We've seen plenty of careers cut short by poor team/position/contract choices.

He should hope he is the Fitz of players instead, we're yet to see Ciraldo do anything but Fitz seems to have picked out the right opportunity for himself

When you play golf with Uncle Nick each month that adds gambling wins of at least $20k per month (outside of cap)

He is a very good actor that’s for sure.
Faked injury and then shot through the relaxed D to set up a try.
Smart I guess.
The D should have just nailed his arse instead of coming in a bit soft.

Yeh players won't fall for that again. When they get charged for smashing into an injured player they will call upon the 'Manu Defence'

John Dorahy did something similar years ago playing for the Bears to get out of the in goal.

Yeh, I think inadvertently he may have opened up a can of worms with the bit of ‘gamesmanship’,

On him alone, if he goes down with a legit injury & it’s not clear he is faking it you can’t bag the defending player to just launch themselves into him.

While one of our most dangerous players he's really a middle of the road fullback. Here's a quick tier list - haven't ordered them inside each tier:

A tier

Turbo
Papenhauzen
Teddy

B tier

Ponga
Latrell

C tier

Walsh
Drinkwater
Gutherson
Brimson
Edwards
Kennedy

D tier

Laurie
Savage

E tier

Averillo
Ramsey
Niu
Walsh can't even make the run on team for the Warriors, does that drop him down a couple of pegs?

What about the under 7s ?
Taken it onboard ? ;)
My team?

We have qualified for the GF already (a month left in the season. No big deal :p). I was thinking of dusting it off as a trick play in the GF, but bloody Joey Manu went and ruined it for me. Might have to go the Gal/Barba play instead.
