Its up to the players when the year is done.

Currently they do not appear to be ready to fight their way out of this slump.

So its up to us to crucify them? Ridiculous.
Everyone will react differently. Me I can see they are not putting in. I understand the reasons why they are not putting in but that doesn't make it easier to accept.

Its up to them to go out give a 100% 2009-2011 style. We were crap but never gave in. This side is not crap but is giving in.

.

Agree with this bit, but the lads need to pull their fingers out now and start winning games otherwise we will be planning for 2015 very soon.
Then we should start playing Holmes, Brown, D Fifita, Gagan.

Don't come in here if you don't like it.

You can tell by the players' body language we're cooked. Add to that the coach was never a first grade coach and doesn't want to be a first grade coach. Where is the motivation going to come from?

If we have the ability to give some young backs a run, do it. There is nothing to lose.

Attitude might change when Gal comes back. If that's soon, we are a chance of scrapping in top 8.
If not, then we start planning for 2015.

Although SOO five eight spot up for grabs, so you'd think this is motivation enough for one player!

Don't comment in the thread if you cant handle losses.
Every team goes through it, you don't crucify a team after 6 games its pathetic.
They have had no passion and that part annoys me, but still no reason to put a thread up asking "When do we call it a year"
If you were a supporter of the club for a decent amount of time, you dont throw the towell in and give up on the team after 6 rounds.
Were missing 3 international forwards, albeit a former international in Tupou, thats still 3.
The season isnt over until the last round.
Have a whinge all you want, but its truly pathetic.

He can't do it all himself though and that's always been the issue. I'd say Mullen, Sezer, Reynolds and Sutton are all ahead of Carney atm.

The season isn't over until the last round? So if we're no chance of making the 8 with 5-8 games left you would happily keep playing the usual suspects instead of blooding players? That was the idea of the thread.

I'll agree, it's a bit premature to be saying season over now, but I honestly struggle to see us getting out of the hole we're in. Having a coach who doesn't want to be there is an enormous problem. Has it even happened before?

Yes, Ricky Stuart last season, Ricky Stuart at cronulla in 2010.
Blooding players is all well and good, but would you want a rookie who is currently the best player in the u20s comp high on confidence, shattered as soon as he steps into first grade with a below average side?
The kids can play, but let them rip up in u20s.
The whole team just needs a wake up call, there captain is 23 years old, that is a ****load of pressure for a kid.
We will be 10x better with some more old heads in the squad, but it is not time to call for a mass exodus of players.

Agree with the sentiment, but don't we lose players because we don't give them a go in the NRL?
Just saying...........
Lichaa to dogs, Peach to pennies, Chad (who is better then Holdsworth) to warriors, Bukes to warriors, Frizz to Dragqueens, Hasson to silvertails........

Maybe I'm wrong, but the kids want a go and we don't give them one.
Maybe it's time to bit the bullet and give these younger blokes a crack. (Just my opinion).

And how did both of those seasons end up?

I'm not talking about a mass exodus of players, but there needs to be changes in the backline.

You can't be serious. They are professional footballers. They are paid to put in.

A couple of things.

Liccha is still yet to sign a contract with the Dogs and he may not given they have reduced the offer.

Peachey/Chad/Hasson are all enjoying NSW cup exactly as they did when they played for us.

Boogs is sucking balls at the moment but is more then likely a victim of a **** side. Frizzel is never going to be anymore than a first grade forward we have them.

Blooding players for the sake of it is short sighted and does not work and in this situation is not the answer. Throwing Brown and Holmes into a side lacking passion and the want to fight will stunt their development.

The solution is simple - the current players need to look in the mirror and take ownership of their own performance. They need to run out next weekend and play with enthusiasm and the want to win.
